Tasted by Brolawa on 12/10/2023: UY4. Excellent balance with petrol and flint in nose. Really beautiful wine. From a mag. (1061 views)
Tasted by Claret & CdP Gang on 12/6/2023 & rated 94 points: Brought this to a dear friend’s birthday dinner, pale yellow, green apples, lemon, powerful, concentrated, mouth coating, quite full bodied, lots energy, v long, still young
94+ (1087 views)
Tasted by liber on 7/9/2023 & rated 92 points: 8th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, pale and youthful, bit simple and light for CC, blind I'd probably think it GC Chablis, hard to tell where this is heading, attractive drink nevertheless and with some style, just not up to usual BdM standards, no rush and may yet round out as indeed some of the bottles have, just not this one. F (17.5). (1522 views)
Tasted by liber on 5/29/2023 & rated 89 points: 7th of 12, opened an hour, apparently perfect cork and level, way off last couple of bottles and with pronounced nutty overtones as in August 20 bottle, still drinkable and attractive but far from what it should be and I suspect light cork taint, normally plenty of upside and no rush. This bottle VG+ (16.5). (1531 views)
Tasted by ricknat1 on 1/14/2023 flawed bottle: flawd/premoxed. last bottle was perfect, so..... (2059 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 12/3/2022 & rated 95 points: Seventeenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Hughes House - Chicago IL): In 12/08/07 vertical. Superb energy and concentration, still wonderfully fresh and vibrant through to its very long finish. While the 2008 vintage was better than 2007 for their first decade, this vintage is now the rockstar, and most likely has even further upside from here. (2929 views)
Tasted by MJReb on 10/23/2022 & rated 93 points: Chez Zim: lemon, pretty lean and very long, nice salinity. (1722 views)
Tasted by dagij on 10/7/2022 & rated 95 points: It is always with fear I open one of these bottles. Previous experiences with premox are the reasons for this. But the, how satisfying it is to find a perfect example at the perfect age for this wine: 15 years. Clear straw color with hints of green. Very young. Classic nose of green apples at first, then the underlying sweet, almost tropical fruit (peach and lime), all topped with a hint of green olives and chalk. Medium to full bodied attack, smooth mouthfeel, and an almost buttery consistency on the palate. Then a searing acidity kicks in, leaving the finish on citrus, green apples and lime. Extreme length, sits for well over one and a half minute and develops fine mineral/olive tones all the way to the end. Not the expansive Burgundy a la Meursault, more like an elegant Chablis. This is just a top wine, but it is still too young. Believe me or not! (1541 views)
Tasted by VoteferPedro on 9/10/2022: really classy and did not have time to think critically as I was prepping and cooking but very lucid and sunshiny fruits with bold entry and then fans out to a palate cleansing finish that encourages another sip. Disappeared too quickly.

This was stored well and seems to be at some sort of peak. I assume it could have another 5+ years. (1598 views)
Tasted by Enfantterrible on 8/24/2022 & rated 94 points: What Burgundy Al said. In a perfect spot. Not sure how much longer it will stay there, so I’ll enjoy monitoring my remaining bottles (1410 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/30/2022 & rated 95 points: Birthday Dinner Featuring Bonneau du Martray and the Very Best of Chambolle-Musigny (The Bristol - Chicago IL): In 06/07/08/10 vertical, preceded by 11/12/13/14 vertical. Floral with apple and lemon zest aromas. Equally bright flavors with excellent intensity and balance, persistent through its long finish. This wine just continues to get better, and clearly has further upside from here. (2663 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 3/24/2022 & rated 94 points: Meals in France; 3/21/2022-3/26/2022 (France): Rich from beginning-to-end, starts out very rich, while finishing brighter with very good length. Very exciting overall, most notably on that finish. (2408 views)
Tasted by rikipedia on 12/24/2021 & rated 93 points: Christmas Eve 2021 (Home): Pale yellow, the aromas are mineral, crushed rocks, chalk, lemon and lime zest even some raw meat.
The entry has penetration and breadth with a lovely oatmeal, chalk and mineral grip. As fresh as a daisy, the core contains a strident acidity and robust mid-palate texture containing cooked Bramley apple, Forelle pear and crushed rocks. A clipped wine it races to a long finish. (852 views)
Tasted by LWI on 11/21/2021 & rated 93 points: Blind. Spice, lanoline, citrus, and schist, some funk; very good acid, substantial concentration and length, chewy with almost a tannic finish. Appear very young, lacks a bit of complexity through, which may emerge with additional cellaring (94-95 potential) (2402 views)
Tasted by liber on 9/12/2021 & rated 95 points: 6th of 12, opened 30 minutes, perfect cork and level, beginning to show at last from my cellar if still ridiculously pale and young, put on significant weight, starting to round out whilst still fresh and nervy, very complex with fine CC typicity and GC weight and energy, very persistent, significant upside here. VF (18.5) for now. (2610 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 9/5/2021: Epic Bordeaux for an Epic Birthday!; 9/1/2021-9/12/2021 (Paris & Bordeaux): What can I say. It's white burg which is not my jam but is the jam of basically every other person who drinks wine and so I took a small pour and thought eh and everyone else thought how lovely and no premox and very fresh and what a good pairing with the lobster. (3659 views)
Tasted by Puteljen! on 7/9/2021 & rated 94 points: Lovely, mature burg. Lots of citrus, mature apples, peach and hints of melon. Hints of honeysuckle and a touch of anisseed. On the palate still good energy but also nots and orangerind. Very long, slightly salty finish. Great stuff! (2472 views)
Tasted by aagrawal on 6/26/2021 & rated 93 points: Dinner with the wine group (Millbrae, CA): Golden; creamy, still needs time to open up; full bodied, white fruits, richly textured; long finish. A bit tight, will benefit from decanting. 92++
On retaste over the next few hours, this opens up quite a bit. The combination of rich texture and fresh acidity and lemon-lime tartness is striking and provides an energy and class to this wine which is intriguing. 93 (2527 views)
Tasted by Nanda on 6/19/2021 & rated 94 points: The Roots Fund Grand Cru Charity Dinner (Home): 10/08/07. My favorite of the flight. This had the flamboyant and inviting nose of the 2010 with so much fresh fruit, florals and spice while showing a more settled in poise and complexity. Fresh, nuanced and so balanced. WOTF. (2161 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/19/2021 & rated 94 points: The Roots Fund Charity Grand Cru Dinner (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): In vertical. Apple and floral notes throughout, this is very dense, powerful and structured, with the fruit to carry through its enjoyment to a long, bright finish. Very minerally and engaging textures. Still further upside here, consistent with previous bottles. I slightly prefer this over 2010, but there was clear disagreement at the table. (2300 views)
Tasted by walkerjfw on 6/2/2021 & rated 94 points: 6th Annual PNV Kick Off Lunch...1st travel since shutdown!..w Tom/Jay/Mitch/Monica/Paula/Jamie A/Tor/Greg G (Farmstead, St. Helena, CA): One of my contributions for the lunch. Chilled, PnP, drank over 2 hours

Prior notes:"Pale gold color. Nose showing lemon, orchard fruits, oyster shell, crushed stone. Palate showing apples, pear, lime, pineapple. Picking up some saline/salt air through the mid palate. Long and nuanced finish..."

Still showing well, a big hit with this group. Continued to evolve nicely over the time we drank it. Good amount of time left with this vintage. Perfect with the Farmstead fare... (1677 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 5/26/2021 & rated 93 points: Corton-Charlemagne and Morey-St-Denis Grand Cru Dinner (Formento's - Chicago IL): Alongside the 2018. Very powerful in a very chiseled, slightly angular style, that is very powerful. Lots of orchard fruit with subtle spice character and a rich middle, then concluding with a very long, minerally finish. Very fresh. (2289 views)
Tasted by KenK on 5/3/2021 & rated 97 points: Out of magnum at French Laundry: Amazingly fresh and clean with serious depth of fruit concentration and wonderful cut. Lemon curd flavors and tremendous minerality with wonderful structure. Hard to believe this is 14 years old. A serious experience and worthy of Grand Cru status. (1938 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 3/26/2021: Some smoky reduction coupled with notes of lemon curd and white peach. It is full and rich, cut rapier-like acidity and is long and linear. The finish is super-stony. (1831 views)
Tasted by dagij on 1/2/2021 & rated 95 points: This is a wine I bought regularly from the early '90s until the 09 vintage, and I have been afraid every time a bottle was opened due to premox. But when these wines are in pristine condition, they are just fabulous. Bright greenish color, incredibly young. Intense, but a bit unexpected nose dominated by vanilla, cardamom, a cool almost mentholated whiff, and a hint of Christmas cake (!). After an hour or so in the glass, more expected aromas of lime, green apples and a hint of butter, emerges. Medium bodied, intense attack in the first part of the tasting curve, and the the wine just expands into what I would characterize as an explosive finish: tropical fruit, lime, cardamom, vanilla and dried fruit. The acidity is very bright, and the aftertaste sits for minutes, and incudes a cool, mentholated flavor. Cuts through boiled lobster as easy as it does with grilled turbot in a butter sauce after that. Still to young, will benefit from at least five years more of cellaring (if you dare). One of the best white wines I have ever drunk and much better than previous bottles of this vintage. (2081 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
