Tasted by IvanKrazy on 6/20/2021 & rated 90 points: This is a weird one, I can’t really explain why I like this wine so much but I do. Easy drinking right now and delicious! (480 views)
Tasted by Stumpy on 2/1/2021 & rated 83 points: Bottle seemed not in the best shape. Drinkable but low on enjoyment factor. (471 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 6/20/2015 & rated 90 points: Light yellow color; tart pear, lemon nose; fresh, juicy, tart pear, lemon, tart apple palate; medium-plus finish (20% malo) 90+ points (388 views)
Tasted by knorthrip on 6/5/2015 & rated 91 points: Initially closed, but opened up beautifully. Good with food. Gorgeous floral notes (some tropical) on the nose along with citrus and oak.
Acidity and high alcohol create structure for lemon, green apple, flint and oak flavors. Some spice on the finish. Will like benefit from a little more time in the bottle. (1202 views)
Tasted by awise45 on 5/7/2015 & rated 87 points: Not bad, but lacking the special flair of their pinots. A little heavy on the finish -- maybe too oaky? (1133 views)
Tasted by mmcdds on 4/19/2015 & rated 87 points: My first taste of their first Chardonnay vintage and not a bad effort. There's very pretty green and tropical fruit with lots of caramelly oak and some subtle baking spice in the background. But, to my tastes, it's abit on the flabby side. I would have preferred to see more acidty to balance the abundant oak. (1091 views)

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
