Tasted by Saferiat on 12/27/2012 & rated 90 points: Still excellent in 2012. Opens beautifully after an hour (2629 views)
Tasted by sphBacchus on 3/24/2010 & rated 91 points: last bottle and really enjoyed this one . Lots of berries on the nose , very smooth and very easy to drink although lacked something on the finish . Showed much better than both the '96 and '88 Limestone Ridge opened recently . (3258 views)
Tasted by serialmonkey on 8/3/2005: Century Wine Club - August 2005 (Scarborough Wines): Classical berry nose. Distinctive new-world cabernet style. Perhaps a little closed initially but really opened up with some time in the glass. Funky and jammy on the palette with lots of strawberries and new oak. Low acid levels. Rated very very good. An excellent Pyrus vintage. (4680 views)
Tasted by graemeg on 12/5/2001: {cork} Rich red colour. Concentrated cassis nose with some red berry character. No malbec this vintage – I wouldn’t say its missed. Strong tannins. Quite oaky. Even palate though. Nice wine from an average vintage. For the shorter term. (588 views)
Tasted by SadEdjo on 5/29/2001: mint, cherry with nutty cedar finish (3154 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.
