Tasted by AeroSKI5150 on 10/26/2018 & rated 86 points: Almost too sweet, but could be due to just too much time. Definitely was past drinking window. (974 views)

Tasted by short and confused on 9/17/2015 & rated 85 points: This has tired out. Stewed, pruney and hot. (2667 views)
Tasted by short and confused on 4/4/2015 & rated 87 points: Losing the magic if its younger years. previously: "Opaque maroon. Ripe red fruits, prunes and spice on the nose. Rich red fruits including raspberries on the palate. There was a sappy dimension but the wine is not just a delicious jammy zinfandel- there is a structure and classiness that stands out. Medium finish." Still nice but clearly aging with the structure and classiness collapsing. Asking the same questions over and over again. (2161 views)
Tasted by PowerJ on 2/17/2014 & rated 93 points: Big Zin! This wine is what Zinfandel should be all about. Nice pepper with some cherry notes. Drinking great right now. (2934 views)
Tasted by joet626 on 10/11/2013 & rated 89 points: Nice and fruity. Similar to most Dry Creek zins. Very nice (2207 views)
Tasted by blabbott on 2/7/2013 & rated 89 points: This wine has a peppery nose, though not much pepper in the flavor. It does have nice fruit, black fruit along with a little red fruit, good structure, and a nice long finish. This is worth looking for at home. (2670 views)
Tasted by Hurlebaus on 5/3/2012 & rated 90 points: Very nice (3579 views)
Tasted by short and confused on 4/2/2012 & rated 92 points: Very similar to prior tastings. Last note "Opaque maroon. Ripe red fruits, prunes and spice on the nose. Rich red fruits including raspberries on the palate. There was a sappy dimension but the wine is not just a delicious jammy zinfandel- there is a structure and classiness that stands out. Medium finish." Always a crowd pleaser. (3968 views)
Tasted by with_1 on 1/25/2012 & rated 89 points: Dark fruit and some alcohol on the nose. Very easy to drink. A very good Cal Zin! (2887 views)
Tasted by short and confused on 11/22/2011 & rated 91 points: Opaque maroon. Ripe red fruits, prunes and spice on the nose. Rich red fruits including raspberries on the palate. There was a sappy dimension but the wine is not just a delicious jammy zinfandel- there is a structure and classiness that stands out. Medium finish. This wine has been a consistent crowd pleaser for the 2 vintages I have bought. I have yet to learn my lesson and buy a case on the initial offering. (3180 views)

Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 8/15/2011 & rated 90 points: Visit to Dry Creek Valley Part III: Northern DCV and Rockpile Ridge Vineyard (Rockpile Ridge Vineyard and Sbragia Winery, Dry Creek Valley, California): Dark maroon color; deep, ripe berry, raisin, spice, floral nose; rich, solid, spicy berry, mulberry, black raspberry palate with structure and firm sweet tannins; needs 2 years; medium-plus finish 90+ points (with 7% Petite Sirah) (2903 views)
Tasted by gutt22 on 7/3/2011: 15.1% alcohol. An excellent Zinfandel that provides really good value. Dark red color. Pretty nose of spice, pepper, and black fruits. In the mouth, lovely balance and good power, with substantial fruit to it, along with prominent earth and spice notes. This is well-structured and a real pleasure to drink. Works well with food or on its own. A- (2355 views)
Tasted by zinfomaniac on 3/20/2011 & rated 89 points: Really enjoyed this bottle. Very well structured by keeping the heat in check with wonderful dark cherry, strawberry and semi-sweet chocolate. It's worth setting a few bottles of this down to enjoy in the next few years. (2544 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
