Tasted by TDK14U on 6/15/2020: Nice, but not as choc mint as 92 (785 views)
Tasted by nulla on 8/6/2018 & rated 93 points: According to a review, 2018 is at the end of the drinking window. Well let me assure you that this is drinking superbly and still has many years left in it (particularly if you have held it since release in a reasonable temperature controlled cellar). Slight eucalypt/medicinal bouquet but the flavor on the palette was fruit melding with creamy oak, rolling around in the mouth like a good ten year old wine. Pitch black in the glass with crimson edges, no sign of bricking or browning. 14% alcohol and no heat, tannins and acid still evident, excellent mouth feel and lingers on the palette long after the last sip. Also this wine had one of the best quality corks I have seen in a long time. Smooth all over, no pitting, no cracks. Must make a big difference. ;D (1183 views)
Tasted by otisabdul on 7/4/2017 & rated 90 points: Charcoal and plum notes, with earthy undertones. Nice velvety mouthfeel. Medium finish. Probably best to drink up. (2040 views)
Tasted by etyc on 4/21/2016: A potpourri of eucalyptus, mint, blueberries on the nose. Lots of density on palate with dark-red fruits, spice. Well restrained... Should still hold for some time... (1830 views)
Tasted by CamWheeler on 3/4/2015 & rated 88 points: March Dinner Offline: Blueberry, coconut - not very expressive. Sweet palate with plenty of power. Good but not all that interesting. Shown up by the 1994 Lawsons on this night. (2255 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 7/28/2010 & rated 93 points: A Trio of Very Aussie Wines (Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck, Paragon): Wow. I loved this. So very different from the ultra-modern Greenock Creek, this was a really solid, old school Aussie Shiraz. Classic Aussie Shiraz notes on the nose grabbed you from the get-go. There was no mistaking what this was - eucalypt, menthol, with plums and blueberries just starting to take on slightly dried, preserved notes, with a touch of American wood hanging around and a whiff of crushed beetles and Chinese incense. Typical idiosynractic stuff. Either you like this or you don't, and I really liked it. Palate had a lovely aged aspect to it, with savoury meat married to almost salty preserved plums and dusty earth notes. Lovely balance and structure, with fresh acid and still grippy tannins giving the wine a nice strong shape. Good strong finish as well, with a dusting of plums in the background and a touch more of those American oak notes. Profound, interesting, full of character, they just do not make them like this anymore. I loved this wine. Best thing is that there is plenty of life in this yet. I think it was just about hitting its stride, opening up after about half an hour in the decanter. This should be wonderful to drink in a couple of years' time. (2654 views)
Tasted by otisabdul on 3/11/2008 & rated 89 points: Understated shiraz, with charcoal and black cherry notes. Mouthfeel is a little too stern for my liking, but certainly exhibits nice structure and proportion. A port-like finish. Will hold my other bottles for a couple more years. (2026 views)
