Tasted by Jarvino on 1/1/2024 & rated 95 points: Stunning wine. Red fruits, fresh, unique. Aroma of grapefruits. Palate strawberry raspberry agrume. (545 views)
Tasted by .M. on 10/19/2023 & rated 92 points: In a beautiful place. (1036 views)
(1609 views)
Tasted by beatles on 5/26/2022 & rated 92 points: Has not moved. Abundance of sweet Grenache, great harmony, light on it's feet and a real mini-Rayas - you could spot it a mile away. I am saddened, that these wine are now out of my reach, should have stocked up even more than I did.

Tasted by R Z on 4/2/2022 & rated 91 points: My one remaining bottle of Chateau des Tours (and given the price of current releases, likely my last. While good, it was not nearly as good as Le Vieux Donjon or Pegau Cuvee Reservee Chateauneuf du Pape, which cost 1/3 the price). This Chateau des Tours CDR was dominated by overwhelming, off-putting oak at first, but the wine opened up and evolved with an hour of decanting and was quite good. Would recommend a much longer decant. (3118 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 1/28/2022 & rated 95 points: The nose here screams Rayas with its natural wine making. Farmyard, leather, sweet red fruit, raspberry, strawberry and cinnamon. The palate is fresh, Burgundian, if it was a real Rayas it would have a bit more structure. Very good. (3992 views)
Tasted by pbaek on 9/10/2021: Light red color, floral nose, light red cherry and raspberry fruit and white pepper. Airy, free-flowing, understated. Absolutely gorgeous and very much carries the Rayas stamp. Much better, right now, than the 2010. (3599 views)
Tasted by Alex G. on 7/17/2021: Sultry spicy with juicy fruit, sweet tobacco and freshly turned Earth. (3536 views)
Tasted by beatles on 5/16/2021 & rated 92 points: Almost too easy to drink, this wine is eksploding with sweet, caressing Grenache-fruit. Creamy teksture, tell-tale ripe ness here, a true mini-Rayas. Completely open, but in no way declining.

(3138 views)
Tasted by Alex G. on 4/3/2021: Exotic sandalwood and spice aromas, secondary nuances on the palate of soft and mature fruit. This is delightful but would drink within the next year. (2972 views)
Tasted by d'Artagnan on 3/21/2021 & rated 91 points: Pop and pour. 91-92 pts (3173 views)
Tasted by dpc123 on 12/23/2020 flawed bottle: Oxidized. Bummer. (2850 views)
Tasted by fc1910 on 12/2/2020 & rated 92 points: Oha....... CT, there are about 60 TN´s about Ch de Tours Vaucluse and around 70+ for de Tours Cote du RHONE, same bottling I do guess,
AND as a summary all filled by Reynaud.
I do not pnp Rhone compared to Burgundy or Bordeaux very often, but if it comes to Quality, there is only ONE statement from me!
Reynaud bottles are always Reference by all standards, entry level Domaine de Tours, +level Chateau de Tours, Fonsalette is next and as the stunning peak: the C9dP Rayas!
So this bottle is full of herbs , delicate fresh fruit, warm melting, gives me a kick towards the holy night and some days off, layered, basket full of brown biscuits, ripe rich fruit, all on the finesse side of red wine, the 14% ABV just covered by the structure, long, very convincing finish, with some aeration very delicious now, but will easily hold another decade! Enjoy! **(*-****), around 91,92(+) potential
Update from 12/05/2020:
Last third of this over 3 days "forgotten" bottle, nothing has changed significantly, great fragrance of rich, layered fruit aromas, Christmas herbs,
on the palate completely silky now, but with stunning grip still, long and very convincing, great stuff! (3360 views)
91-92 pts (3025 views)
Tasted by Zoltán Németi on 9/1/2020: Pure magic, a real Pinot Noir of the South, light colored, perfumed and finessed. A grand cru Burgundy from the Rhone, a fantastic wine. Well worth the price. 94+ points

Tasted by mterheijden on 8/22/2020 & rated 92 points: Very Reynaud style. Impressive wine with incredible price quality ratio (2535 views)
Tasted by Mazy on 7/25/2020 & rated 90 points: PNP. (2600 views)
Tasted by glou.sf on 4/16/2020 & rated 91 points: Strawberries, red cherries, herbs, and red berries on the bright nose. Good balance on the palate with flavors of wild strawberries, raspberries, and a hint of woody notes with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Good finish. Quite nice CdR! (2650 views)
Tasted by pbaek on 3/29/2020: Lots of matter here, very expressive with notes of kirsch, raspberry coulis, pepper and earth. En danseuse. Tasted up against the 2014, this has more power, is more full on. Delicious now but will easily go another decade. (2652 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 3/14/2020 & rated 92 points: Drank over two days and really delicious. Beautiful acidity and garrigue and very tasty. Silky soft tannin. (2808 views)
Tasted by melvinyeowq on 3/1/2020: Something about these wines that I don’t quite love. A pretty nose but let down by the palate. Certainly elegantly made with light red fruits but a little hollow and lacking in body. Last glass was the best though. Still not worth the inflated price IMO. (2974 views)
Tasted by aknot13 on 1/24/2020 flawed bottle: Oxidized (2414 views)
(3556 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 8/5/2019 & rated 92 points: What an elegance and beauty! Beautiful acidity and garrigue, fresh acidity and soft tannin. Great wine. One more bottle to go. Not sure how long I will wait and even if waiting longer will be rewarding. The wine is a small feast NOW. (3300 views)

Château des Tours

Producer website

(via http://www.leaandsandeman.co.uk/wine-producer/Emmanuel-Reynaud-431-04.html )

Emmanuel Reynaud is the fourth generation of wine growers and took over from his father at Chateau des Tours in 1997 and also at the infamous Chateau Rayas after the death of his uncle Jacques Reynaud. His wines are based upon very old Grenache vines, giving wines of little colour but great intensity of aroma (cedar) and flavour.

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
