Tasted by Biskuit on 5/18/2024 & rated 92 points: Benefits from air, loads of slate minerality (27 views)
Tasted by markjanes on 2/29/2024 & rated 77 points: QN: continues to age slowly... color holding, acidic cut of wine fading a bit, lack of length on finish getting more noticeable. i'd drink these up. (70 views)
Tasted by markjanes on 10/3/2020 & rated 88 points: exactly the same tasting note... (354 views)
Tasted by markjanes on 1/4/2020 & rated 88 points: straw to yellow color. aromatic wine with honey, stone fruits, minerals. on the palate dry with high and very fine acids, firm midpalate, minimal phenolics, low alcohol. very well balanced wine, ok to shortish length, very good intensity and complexity. very nice riesling that lacks a bit in length but represents great value in low 20's. drink now or hold 3-5. #2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)
