Soft juicy fruit, difficult to pinpoint ( Especially as we served this blind) , good round and polished but lacking an exciting side. Not sure if when younger this was more exuberant but at this stage is a but muted and a lacking an exciting side. If tasted blind, one would probably end up somewhere between Beaune and Ampuis, since the wine seems burgundian and has some northern rhone Syrah spiciness. Overall this convinces with freshness, purity, intensity, but at the same time some ethereal lightness. Highly recommended with at least another decade of evolution ahead. Light on its feet with sour berries, violets, liquorice and herbs. Backbone of superb acidity. Very high quality. (530 views) |
