| Tasted by Rossodio on 2/13/2024 & rated 89 points: Still going strong, though the cork was 99 percent soaked through. (134 views) |
| Tasted by Rossodio on 6/17/2023 & rated 89 points: On opening this was a bit too acidic without body. An hour or so later (and a bit more chilled) white floral and honeysuckle aspects came out that balanced the wine.
I don't know that it will improve any further but it is nice now.
Drank over 1 night; I had half of the bottle. Vvv (346 views) |
| Tasted by Rossodio on 4/8/2023 & rated 89 points: This bottle is a bit more delicate than the last I had a year ago. Still very nice and a spot on match for Malaysian food tonight. (371 views) |
| Tasted by Irish_Wine on 11/1/2022 & rated 89 points: Pale lemon colour. On the nose apple, melon and some floral notes. On the palate, very crisp with high acidity, light body and some sweetness. Enjoyable wine. (219 views) |
| Tasted by Techparrot on 2/23/2022 & rated 81 points: Drank with a specialist. Dry (1358 views) |
| Tasted by Rossodio on 2/8/2022 & rated 90 points: Drank over 2 nights. Drinking very well now and over at least the next 5 years. (1305 views) |
| Tasted by Rossodio on 8/27/2021 & rated 90 points: Cork nearly soaked through. Had an astringent taste on opening but amazingly softened over 24 hours to a wonderful if not remarkable standard cuvee Trimbach riesling on night 2. Excellent and likely near or at peak. (1560 views) |
| Tasted by smenzies on 8/3/2021 & rated 88 points: Some subtle kerosene with dry fruit on the palate. It might be in a bit of a slump now ie. a bit short. Maybe give a couple of years. (1511 views) |
| Tasted by Rossodio on 6/21/2021 & rated 89 points: 89-90. Apple, slight pear, dry, starting to develop petrol notes. Nice mild complexity for the price point. Too easy to enjoy...
Especially at the $6.99 I spent per bottle at a 7-Eleven on my way to work. A STEAL! (1460 views) |
| Tasted by Zak_pie10 on 4/3/2021 & rated 90 points: Honey, mineral, slight petrol note, pear, and tart green apple (984 views) |
| Tasted by jsjones on 11/26/2020 & rated 90 points: Apple notes. Crisp abs clean. Good to start thanksgiving dinner. (1134 views) |
| Tasted by valecnik on 10/14/2020 & rated 89 points: Started out amazingly dry, with aromatics of wet stone and cream. Classic Alsace full body. With time and air it gets sweeter, bringing zingy lemon and brisk acidity, while pineapple shimmers beneath. Mild hints of petrol emerge at the end, with mineral and oregano on the finish. | Tasted by Nojomoschwa on 7/17/2020 & rated 90 points: Brilliant as always, esp for $10 for the 375ml bottle. Only hint of age is the slight honeyed character. Lovely, long, lingering crisp and bone-dry finish. (1125 views) |
| Tasted by Chefofthewoods on 5/29/2020 & rated 88 points: Dry and crisp, great light hor d'oeuvre pairing. Worth the $12 price and holding so nicely. (1182 views) |
| Tasted by Nojomoschwa on 2/8/2020 & rated 90 points: This is drinking really well now. A perfect example of why the Trimbach style is so alluring. If this, their entry-level Riesling, is so composed, balanced and exceedingly fresh at six years old, it says a lot about what the other wines can be. (1533 views) |
| Tasted by NiklasW on 10/20/2019 & rated 89 points: Cracked and poured at fridge temp. A very nice nose of green grass and lemons with a hint of Riesling oiliness and petrol, chalky too. Lemony on the palate, wih excellent acidity and a bit of earth and grass. Very nice and fresh now! (1642 views) |
| Tasted by richard.presser on 10/17/2019 & rated 89 points: Colour developing. Some development on the nose. Still quite acid on the palate but much better with food. Not a great wine but a classic lower level Alsace Riesling. (1541 views) |
| Tasted by tenorselbow on 10/12/2019 & rated 90 points: Reticent nose of honeysuckle, passionfruit and fresh bandages - perhaps going through the famous riesling cocoon phase. Some minerality and lime juice in the mouth with good height and acid. Asparagus and a touch of umami on a long and moreish finish. Love to see how this would develop. Very good with fish broth. | Tasted by _water.into.wine_ on 7/14/2019 & rated 87 points: I sadly didn't like this. Found it quite unbalanced and too tart and acidic. Far too much green apples for me. (1454 views) |
| Tasted by jh773 on 7/5/2019 & rated 91 points: Green apple skins, citrus, mandarin, petrol on the nose. Acidity is pronounced but not overwhelming. There's lots of minerality and a bit of a smooth, warm flavor like caramel or butterscotch but very subtle; tangy, crisp finish. (1209 views) |
| Tasted by Teaky on 6/10/2019: Slightly muted nose that was floral with some citrus? Flavors of citrus, some pineapple, maybe peach, this was very nice, had a nice crispness to it, paired very well with smoked chicken. Had next to the '15 and the '15 was more fruity and less crisp, the '14 was preferable. This is an excellent wine to drink on its own or pair with food, and a great deal. (1146 views) |
| Tasted by guzmana on 2/20/2019 & rated 90 points: Same as last note. Dry and steely. Balanced. (1493 views) |
| Tasted by Birged on 2/3/2019 & rated 88 points: Bright floral bouquet, and crisp acidity. (1507 views) |
| Tasted by HerrMelin on 1/17/2019 & rated 87 points: Näsa: citrus, vita blommor, mineralvatten och grönt äpple.
Smak: tydlig syra och bra struktur. Har ganska tydliga smaker av persika, lime och honung. Fin mineralitet i eftersmaken.
Inte en överdrivet blommig och fruktrik riesling, kommer bli bättre med åren men är redan nu väldigt tillgänglig, gillar den skarpt! (1698 views) |
| Tasted by Mtorigian on 12/14/2018 & rated 85 points: Little strong and acidic. Close to balance but not perfect. Definite taste of lemon or very tart green apple. I taste steel and metallic aftertaste which I do not enjoy. (1857 views) |
