Tasted by Raja on 5/24/2024 & rated 92 points: Can age more (45 views)
Tasted by John4 on 2/6/2024 & rated 92 points: This bottle over delivered. If you can find it for sub $40 buy it. My only wish is that I had more in the cellar. Holding my last for a few more years, no hurry. (301 views)
Tasted by cbrachfeld on 2/2/2024 & rated 93 points: Will easily continue to improve for another few years and should be quite good for at least 5. (281 views)
Tasted by cbrachfeld on 11/23/2023 & rated 93 points: Clear red tending towards purple. Intense nose, dark stonefruit and cedar. Fairly tannic but smooth and integrated. Out of bottle, a little tight, but opens at midpalate with a longish and perfect finish. Plenty of aging potential. I note that the cork was dry and crubly at the top but in fine condition 1/3 down with no apparent ill effect. (402 views)
Tasted by tominasia on 10/6/2023 & rated 90 points: This has really opened up since my last bottle. Smooth, rich, dark fruit, earth and very enjoyable. (483 views)
Tasted by Shoomon on 2/11/2023 & rated 91 points: Jammy well balanced with dark fruit. Tasted with softer tannins on second day. (1050 views)
Tasted by Tcraig88 on 1/22/2023 & rated 92 points: Integrated. Silly, almost buttery texture. Very rich with good fruit (904 views)
Tasted by Shak on 10/22/2022 & rated 89 points: Decanted for a couple of hours. Nice dark fruit and old vine. A little to acidic. Softened a bit by the end of the bottle. (1076 views)
Tasted by tominasia on 5/30/2022 & rated 88 points: DJDEVLIN nailed it with his review of about 9 months ago. I bought 4 bottles, also from a flash site, but paid $26. A crowd pleasing wine, good for a party. (1456 views)
Tasted by Shafeeqb on 11/13/2021: Priyanka and Anshumans place. (1592 views)
Tasted by djlevin on 9/11/2021 & rated 89 points: Alcohol and blackberry with plum on the nose. Palate is very fruit forward with blackberry, black plum and some boysenberry compote. Med+ acidity and low tannin. Medium length fruity finish. Very simple flavor profile with lots of fruity character. The oak has not integrated well and there is a touch of residual sugar. Too much fruit to pair well with the home-made Pepperoni pizza we paired it with. A cocktail wine through and through. The good acidity saves the day here. Decent QPR for a Napa Chiles Valley Cab at the $20/btl paid for a half case from a flash site. Could be a better drinking experience in a year, or two more of bottle age. (2056 views)
Tasted by heyjon on 7/30/2021 & rated 89 points: Penetrating, earthy, somewhat alcoholic nose of dark fruit, potting soil, frankincense, leather, cedar chest, nicely balanced palate of black currant and black cherry with notes of dark chocolate, black pepper, allspice, and grapefruit pith, chalky tannins, lengthy finish. Solid. (976 views)
 Tasted by Frank-H on 5/16/2021 & rated 90 points: Very good! 90 (887 views)
Tasted by kevrob822 on 5/14/2021 & rated 90 points: Another nice 90 Pointer. Great easy drinker! Very Nice QPR. (1889 views)
Tasted by kevrob822 on 5/3/2021 & rated 90 points: Very similar to the earlier note. Nice to be consistent. (1992 views)
Tasted by Joelene on 3/26/2021 & rated 91 points: This bottle was much better than the last one I had, seems this is starting to come together. Black currants, pine and ink on the nose. More black and red fruits on the palate with some blood, talcum, smoke and crushed pepper. This is improving, but still not quite harmonious, at first it was a bit green but that rounded off and it got better with a couple of hours of air. Lacks the pure fruit lift of higher quality napa cabs but has a good freshness and enough acidity too be very serviceable especially with fatty meats. (860 views)
Tasted by Parnelli on 3/5/2021 & rated 87 points: Not as flavorful as previous bottles ... muted fruit and not quite balanced. (1657 views)
Tasted by kevrob822 on 2/2/2021 & rated 90 points: A very nice, easy drinking CS. A typical big, rich, powerful, high alcohol & oaky Napa Cab. Not much more to add... nothing exceptional, but no liabilities (66/33). I’m going to get more of this for when my Beer-swigging’ Friends come over and I want to look like a Rock Star! 😂 (1831 views)
Tasted by Parnelli on 1/11/2021 & rated 88 points: Not as good as previous bottles, but still a solid Napa cab. (1634 views)
Tasted by Parnelli on 12/20/2020 & rated 91 points: Another very smooooooooooooooth bottle of cab. Really enjoyed this one ... again! (1580 views)
Tasted by Parnelli on 11/14/2020 & rated 91 points: Beautiful color! Dark fruit on the nose and palate. Some earthiness. Nice balance of fruit, tannins and acidity. Drinking nicely now. (1697 views)
Tasted by jkad on 11/12/2020 & rated 87 points: Drank over 2 days. First taste is very ripe with gripping tannins. A little imbalanced like many wines from around Napa. Day 2 the wine has softened and not as ripe. More black cherry with still some tannin. Maybe gets better with some age, but may lack the balance for aging. Would be good with a Ribeye steak in day 1. (1335 views)
Tasted by Tym4wine on 9/19/2020 & rated 90 points: Very nice floral bouquet and aromas. Hint of clean/fresh scent. Tannins are moderately tight with some fine grit. Dark cherry and kirsch. Nicely acidic, wet and juicy. Medium finish. Very nice wine which seemed to evolve over the evening. (1484 views)
Tasted by aguydrinker on 8/27/2020 & rated 89 points: Really mellowed out overnight. Relatively short throw, with an expected acid then alcohol then tart/chocolate finish. Sits in the back of your throat a while. A little muddled and undefined. (1314 views)
Tasted by douglasmsimms on 8/24/2020 & rated 91 points: Great wine, deep red with that traditional Napa can flavor. Big and beautiful. Doesn’t have any of the fake underlying sweetness seen in many off the shelf cabs. Going to hold some of this back as it will age well, but not sure if I can restrain myself! (1205 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
