Tasted by SkiDadDDS on 3/19/2021 & rated 93 points: This Chad has developed into a top flight wine. I’m glad I have been patient, as this has been sitting in the cellar quite some time. Smooth on the attack and complex on the palate, it is full bodied with nothing negative. Full of flavors, complexity and structure, with a medium finish that is very smooth. For the price we paid through Wine Access, it’s a fabulous QPR. This is at its peak, so drink up now. I decanted for 2 hours. (369 views)

Tasted by vinodolphin on 11/16/2020 & rated 91 points: A wonderful wine. Smooth and luscious. (411 views)
Tasted by Ecoenophile on 7/18/2019 & rated 91 points: Limited note: surprisingly complex and full. Good value. (635 views)
Tasted by schaden43 on 5/27/2017 & rated 93 points: A big Napa Cab. I opened it 2 hours before dinner and it required a decant. The last taste of the wine was the best. (1381 views)
Tasted by Hargate on 1/11/2017 & rated 92 points: I haven't liked the other Chad wines very much 3 out of 5 stars. The 2012 Spring Mt. Cab was a different beast. I give it 5 stars. Drank it a month ago and just writing the tasting notes now, so I can't remember the details, but I did record the 5 stars. (1111 views)
Tasted by suburbanfrog on 11/28/2016: Too young yet. Needs time to develop. (1157 views)
Tasted by Skibank114 on 11/16/2016 & rated 90 points: Like most of the Chad we have purchased, this wine does not disappoint. Nice structure, medium finish, and overall a very nice cab. QPR is the key here as this has a very reasonable price point for the quality. This is ready now, but benefits from some air - much better day two. (1268 views)
Tasted by Scmax on 5/23/2015: Light body - full berry nose - smokey taste - long smokey finish (1906 views)
Tasted by Joey Z on 4/11/2015 & rated 88 points: Silky smooth cab
It smells like blackberry. The body is light/medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. (1245 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
