Tasted by daver852 on 4/1/2020 & rated 86 points: Thought this was pretty ordinary. Nothing wrong with it, but it doesn't really ring any bells. Dark color, scant nose. Medium-bodied, fruity, not much tannic structure. Does have some varietal character. Will do in a pinch. (2140 views)
Tasted by mrooney on 2/29/2020 & rated 75 points: nose: nice mix of cabernet sauvignon fruit and oak in pretty much equal measures; palette: lightly flinty cabernet sauvignon fruit with a flinty finish. (2258 views)
Tasted by mrooney on 1/30/2020 & rated 70 points: nose: faint and nothing bad; palette: light and still pleasant fruit with a definite oaky background carrying into the finish (2411 views)

Tasted by DJ Veritas on 11/22/2019 & rated 86 points: Tasted blind against a 2014 Silverado Napa Cab and this little $7 bottle won. I was shocked. Lots of dark fruit up front, some spice, vanilla, and tobacco on the nose. Very easy drinking young wine right out of the bottle. Got good reviews from the ladies in our group. This is not my style, but at this price point it’s hard to beat. I would have no problem buying this to serve at parties with the casual wine crowd. If you are looking for boldness, depth, and structure, I would pass. (2205 views)
Tasted by dhwilcox on 11/7/2019 & rated 75 points: Notes of cherry and tobacco. Medium body (1219 views)
Tasted by Martnmac on 10/28/2019 & rated 85 points: Solid. Consider price point. If you want a fun friendly easy to drink fan fav for a party of group. This is a good selection (1089 views)
Tasted by mrooney on 9/20/2019 & rated 74 points: nose: light fruit with no clear sense; palette: medium soft typical cabernet sauvignon fruit with a slightly oaky finish (1166 views)
Tasted by mrooney on 9/11/2019 & rated 75 points: nose: medium cabernet sauvignon fruit; palette: soft medium fruit with a little black cherry and a slightly oaky lingering acidic finish (980 views)
Tasted by Marysha on 7/16/2019: Had at mom and dads. Loved. $9. Also have an oak aged variety I’d probably like. (917 views)
Tasted by Kcornett on 6/16/2019 & rated 80 points: Horrible wine. Frankly hard to drink. Not much flavor and no complexity with a rather syrupy currant finish. (881 views)
Tasted by NolanP on 5/28/2019 & rated 82 points: Good flavor. Smooth. Good value for price. (890 views)
Tasted by Toryvalben on 5/23/2019 & rated 91 points: Full flavor with BlackBerry notes. Nicely balanced. (686 views)
Tasted by TonyHamlin on 5/13/2019: Not memorable. Which means is was good, but not great, and more importantly, it didn't suck. (795 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 12/24/2018 & rated 84 points: Fun, juicy, accessible, went down fast at a holiday dinner. (1056 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
