Tasted by SLOFred on 5/17/2024 & rated 89 points: Good, not great. I expected more. Usually this is a good bottling and this was a good vintage. I feel this wine lacked the complexity and depth I usually expect. (124 views)
Tasted by tbrader on 5/8/2024 flawed bottle: corked (195 views)
Tasted by tbrader on 4/25/2024 & rated 87 points: In earlier vintages, Juvenile was one of my favorite Turley zins, despite its lower price point. This vintage is not in the same territory. It's off-putting when first opened, and gets moderately tolerable with an hour or so of oxygen. Disappointing turn in this bottling. (240 views)
Tasted by SLOFred on 3/24/2024 & rated 91 points: Great, great soft fruit that reminded me of a grenache. Basically, Zin that is not "jammy". I think that the Juvenile is one of my favorite Turley Zins as it is much more subtle and graceful than other zins. (442 views)
Tasted by fitchbuck on 1/18/2024 & rated 86 points: I get that this is their entry level, but I've had much better from WA at this price point. I like their Old Vines better in this range. (668 views)
Tasted by tbrader on 1/11/2024 & rated 88 points: Still takes 30-60 minutes to balance out the vibrancy and fruit. Mulled plum, nutmeg. Gamey and leathery notes. Strikes me as a bit removed from past Juvenile bottlings. (625 views)
Tasted by tbrader on 1/9/2024 flawed bottle: Corked (606 views)
Tasted by tjtrot on 12/17/2023 & rated 88 points: somewhat agree with Dino; agreeable medium body with some elegant fruit mid palate but fading on the short finish. Certainly a "drink now" (668 views)
Tasted by Rramey on 12/4/2023 & rated 92 points: Still drinking great! Has a chewiness with plenty of fruit. A little more alcohol than before. (664 views)
Tasted by BGK810 on 11/14/2023 & rated 90 points: Juicy red fruits with great acidity, cedary wood flavors and spice. (611 views)
Tasted by Dine&Vine on 10/8/2023 & rated 91 points: Last bottle was delicious. Same notes as previous bottle. (757 views)
Tasted by dino_mike on 8/4/2023 & rated 86 points: The wine has had a good life, but it's finally aging. There is a real lack, emptiness in mid-pallet and a rich but short finish. Drink now (896 views)
Tasted by MoselBoy on 5/31/2023 & rated 91 points: Low on tannins. Very softy with lots of character. (1025 views)
Tasted by Dine&Vine on 5/28/2023 & rated 91 points: This bottle lived up to my expectation for Turley zin. Jammy, balanced and oh so delicious! (889 views)
Tasted by Dine&Vine on 4/23/2023: Something off with this bottle. Tasted tart and bitter. Will try tomorrow to see if it improves. (971 views)
Tasted by goldgarf on 4/22/2023 & rated 88 points: Typical jammy, fresh, acidic. (880 views)
Tasted by Ordinary Pants on 4/15/2023 & rated 90 points: This is a fun wine. Light fruity and approachable. Not jammy. Good with seared flank steak ! (853 views)
Tasted by Dine&Vine on 2/19/2023 & rated 89 points: This bottle had sediment and age on it. Fleeting Red fruit flavors with a touch on heat on the finish. I need to start drinking these sooner than later. Very good QPR. (1014 views)
Tasted by ocfriday on 1/9/2023 & rated 89 points: Excellent example of a Turley Juvi, great fruit, balance and taste. (1450 views)
Tasted by SLOFred on 12/28/2022 & rated 91 points: Nice value. Best QPR from Turley. They make great wine, but this label is affordable and has great quality. This maxed with a 2 hour decant. Not a PnP wine. Drink with anticipation, meaning must decant. REally nice fruit. Classic Zin. (1246 views)
Tasted by btock on 11/12/2022 & rated 90 points: Firmer/tighter than expected. This has a lot of structure and was wound a bit tight. First bottle opened from the vintage and think it can age longer than most Juveniles. Mixed red and black fruits, sappy, tannins in the background. Think this has a bit of upside ahead. (1620 views)
Tasted by Ex-Ray on 11/3/2022 & rated 90 points: Simple and straightforward, but quite nice and very drinkable. Good fruit but for short term drinking.

Tasted by Ordinary Pants on 10/26/2022 & rated 90 points: Light body and medium on the dryness. Red fruit blended with black. Predominant strawberry with smooth tannins. Definitely not sweet, but not complex. It says drink me without reservations or second thoughts. Direct and enjoyable. (1575 views)
Tasted by ocfriday on 9/19/2022 & rated 89 points: Excellent example of a Turley Juvi, great fruit, balance and taste. (1659 views)
Tasted by Nelsongwinn on 7/29/2022 & rated 93 points: Nice raspberry nose, berries, long finish of cocoa (1905 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
