Tasted by brianngibson on 4/14/2024 & rated 94 points: Incredibly youthful at 15. (250 views)
Tasted by cephomer on 7/1/2023 & rated 93 points: Popped n' poured last nite in Copake w/homemade pizza wings. I admittedly did not know this wine previously or I'd have treated it differently. Nose of leather, tobacco and spice. Medium body, soft tannins mostly resolved. Red and black fruit in good standing. Smoothly elegant pour with excellent concentration. There's plenty of fruit, but also notes of tobacco, leather and spice, and perhaps some mocha. Lovely wine that I drank mostly alone. Probably still has a decent drinking window ahead, but I see no reason to wait as it's delicious right now. (1434 views)
Tasted by Topper on 10/29/2022 & rated 93 points: Good solid cab. Drinking well now. Opened for Poker group (2201 views)
Tasted by jsmorris707 on 10/22/2022 & rated 94 points: Similar to prior note after double decanting for 2 hrs; delicious, more traditional Napa cab & still young, drink or preferably hold (2066 views)
Tasted by nicholasagonzales on 4/1/2022 & rated 98 points: Beautiful wine. (2409 views)
Tasted by Jzboxtas on 3/30/2022 & rated 92 points: Much better second night after air. (2287 views)
Tasted by Hilltime on 12/21/2021 & rated 90 points: Opened and decanted for a bit over an hour. The nose was a bit funky with an earthy, mushroom profile to the tune of not getting much in the way of fruit. Poured into four glasses, approximately half the volume of the bottle. Dried berry, again with an earthiness on the palate, but a nice long aftertaste. Tannins were smooth and integrated but I will have to say, somewhat disappointing in comparison to the last bottle of '09, opened about 5 yrs ago. This bottle may have been a bit past it's prime.  Tasted by willthethrill on 4/29/2021 & rated 93 points: Silky and earthy. Lovely. Thanks GB! (2006 views)
Tasted by jsmorris707 on 11/5/2020 & rated 93 points: Double decanted for 2 hrs, deep ruby dark fruit with some leather a touch of tobacco like a young Left Bank, med/firm tannins, mod/long finish; very good & slightly better on day 2 but its going to need Bordeaux aging, still young, hold for at least a couple of more yrs (2687 views)
Tasted by doug374 on 5/16/2020 & rated 91 points: Deep red coming from the bottle with aromas of roses and leather. In the mouth there was a suprisingly modest sense of presence for the wine. It was good but lacking the promise of the pour. (2478 views)
Tasted by ex-sommelier on 3/21/2020: Opened a couple hours ahead of time, this poured a deep maroon with a very elegant nose of sweet pipe tobacco, baked red and black fruit, violets, garden herbs, and milk chocolate. Palate had a rich, savory quality.

Really deep and expressive wine that was in a perfect place right now. Well outside of my normal price range and style, but I loved how characterful and complex this was; reached every single taste bud. Not your normal Napa Cab. Tannin was mostly integrated and still had some freshness, not sure this will get better than this.

EDIT: day two was disappointing as this really fell apart. Sweet blackberry liqueur notes dominated, short finish. Way way better on day one with only an hour or two of air. (2632 views)
Tasted by Shay.Aldriedge on 3/5/2020 & rated 94 points: I’m fairly surprised at some of the notes below mentioning the wine coming across as tired...my bottle was powerful, and seems to just now be at peak. “Classic” Continuum in that is has just a impeccable balance of both fruit and herbal/savory notes both aromatically and on the palate. I let this slow ox for a couple hours, checking in ever so often, and found this hit stride after about two hours of air. Lovely bouquet of potpourri, lavender, graphite, sage, currant, ripe blackberries, black cherries and mocha. On the palate, its profile is soft yet all encompassing. Mulberries, cassis, tobacco leaves, herbs de Provence, licorice, dark cocoa, baking spices and a touch savory toward the finish. Enjoyable now and not getting better. (2476 views)
Tasted by asteff on 11/23/2019 & rated 90 points: Plush fine grained tannins. Very fruity. Dark cherry and berries. I was surprised with how many tertiary notes have come forward, making it feel a little tired. (2222 views)
Tasted by trath17 on 10/4/2019: Tabacco and hint of cigar box.
Short legs, smooth and well balanced finished. Light in color and texture. Smooth tannins and balances acidity. Rhubarb. (1874 views)
Tasted by Thirsty1 on 6/23/2019: Showing some of some age with a little brick around the edge. Secondary scents emerging with a hint of leather, olive and cigar box with maturing dark fruit. Lots of life ahead. Integrated, focused, full and fun. Can be enjoyed now and for the next 10 years at least. (1962 views)
Tasted by EM_MB on 4/9/2019 & rated 91 points: Good mouth feel (although a bit on the think side). Well integrated tannins, most likely at its peak. Just expected a bit more out of this bottle given the price. (2044 views)
Tasted by LiteItOnFire on 2/16/2019 & rated 94 points: WH/TH at Giuseppe. Drank alongside a 2015 sassicaia, 2009 continuum, 2015 Chateau de Beaucastel, 2015 Bevan Cellars Pinot and 2016 Beven Ontogeny with a 2014 Caymus Special Select. Then home for 2012 Montez Cote Rotie and 2009 Chateau de Beaucastel. No notes.

PnP excellent wine. Great structure and flavor profile. Perfect drinking window right now- coffee, medium to dark fruit, hint of black licorice. Really enjoyable. (2945 views)
Tasted by EM_MB on 11/21/2018 & rated 91 points: Four hour decant. A bit disappointing in that tasted a bit thin and dropped off mid palate. Perhaps in a closed window? (2245 views)
Tasted by Mr T on 3/18/2018: Very nice cab although PNP probably my not the way to go. Ripe dark fruits and still some tannin but good sweet fruit and cassis in there. Give it air or some time (3392 views)
Tasted by dlcass on 12/25/2017 & rated 95 points: Delicious wine. Improved with time. Quite youthful in character. The Mountain fruit? Cab Franc? Nice aromatics of dried flowers, dark berry, sweet tannins. Great mouth feel, texture and finish. (3279 views)
Tasted by Bordeaux_Jon on 10/29/2017 & rated 88 points: From a half bottle. On the nose, dark black fruit, new oak - licorice? and broody. Worse on the palate, a monolithic block of fruit with noticeable alcohol and wall of intense tannins leaving my mouth a bit sore. Not much fun now. I decided to spit rather than swallow. I'm hoping it will get better in the glass but no luck 30min in. This is more closed than a 2009 Bordeaux. Perhaps it's in a dumb phase, but if I had more I wouldn't open it for 10 years.

Update: with 1.5h of air, the nose has opened up a little but the palate is still alcohol and tannin driven to the point of being more powerful than pleasurable. Not a Bordeaux-lovers Cab and not a good after dinner drink unless you like young Port. (3788 views)
Tasted by joelshine on 7/30/2017 & rated 94 points: Excellent but still a little young. (4263 views)
Tasted by dlcass on 6/3/2017 & rated 94 points: This was very interesting in that it improved a lot after 2+ hours in the decanter and glass.... Perhaps a little disjointed and non integrated a first but later quite enjoyable. Nose of lilac, dried flowers and sweet dark berries; smooth on the palate; modest mouth feel and texture. Benefits from long decant. (4039 views)
Tasted by Jordan7T on 6/3/2017 & rated 96 points: Deep red fruit flavor with long finish (slight tannins). Probably peaking as I dont know how much better it can get (3487 views)
Tasted by sonodoc on 5/21/2017 & rated 94 points: Very nice. Smooth, plenty of black and dark red fruit, with some mocha. (2926 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
