Tasted by CBC52 on 11/21/2022 & rated 91 points: Still beautifully balanced with 1 hour decanting. Served with salmon puttanesca. (501 views)
Tasted by Dalex on 8/27/2022 & rated 93 points: This was silky, polished and elegant with bight dark cherry fruit. The bottle quickly disappeared. Stunned at the quality here. (591 views)
Tasted by Halfeel on 3/3/2022 & rated 91 points: Still in a very good place - Perfect pairing with lasagna bolognese. (791 views)
Tasted by mdipietro on 10/23/2021 & rated 92 points: Pretty amazing Chianti at this price point.
Rested in my cellar for years… impressive (1015 views)
Tasted by elyaz on 2/18/2020: Definitely a lot of fruit. Dark cherry. Almost a Rhône character of fruit and herb. Good tannic structure too. Pasta with red sauce, lasagna. Too dark for cacio e pepe.

Had a few more times. A little too sweet/fruit for my Italian wine tastes. But maybe have just moved to prefer Montalcino to Chianti? Will pass for now." (1448 views)
Tasted by 1961Vintage on 10/18/2019 & rated 93 points: Rated on ptq. Aging very well and really well balanced showing like a chianti at much higher price points. (1254 views)
Tasted by 1961Vintage on 6/11/2019 & rated 91 points: Drinking quite well right now. (1351 views)
Tasted by joefel on 12/8/2018 & rated 90 points: Opened at restaurant. Similar notes as before, but I’m glad I didn’t wait any longer. Now is the time to drink this. (1406 views)
Tasted by Adventr.us on 4/8/2018 & rated 90 points: Served with homemade brick oven pizza. Drinking beautifully right now. (2003 views)
Tasted by blakel on 3/22/2018 & rated 91 points: Either the last bottle I drank (in 2012) was flawed, or this has improved greatly with age. Intriguing notes of cedar and spice box on the nose. Palate is classic chianti with licorice, cherry, spice, cellar, meat. Tannins are nicely integrated. Medium finish. Very nice. (1562 views)
Tasted by Nico P. on 9/18/2017: 14%. Suckling 91, WS 92. Burst of dark cherry that quickly fades into leather, damp earth. Liquorice. Tannins fully integrated (but far from flabby). Smells and tastes like an older wine; this has aged quickly. Food friendly acidity. Good structure, but don't look for fruit. Went well with pesto. Drink up. (1958 views)
Tasted by 1961Vintage on 12/26/2016 & rated 90 points: Still has life. But clearly at peak. (2372 views)
Tasted by Richard123 on 10/20/2016 & rated 88 points: Fading a little now... Drink up. (2475 views)
Tasted by mdipietro on 9/25/2016 & rated 92 points: Drinking very well now (2031 views)
Tasted by Rcapria on 6/30/2016 & rated 89 points: excellent for the price (2205 views)
Tasted by df1962 on 5/19/2016 & rated 91 points: PnD let air for 90 mins. Dense dark crimson purple alomost opaque and almost non-Chianti like with violet to clear rim. Huge nose of macerated cherry plum sage rosemary licorice and cola. Fresh with slightly gritty black tea tannin. Big on the palate but still fresh with plum cherry sage espresso fennel and cola. Very clean and fresh on the palate with a lingering kirschy note. In a nice place to be drinking up. What an awesome deal this was. (1924 views)
Tasted by MadisonWIneGuy on 10/6/2015 & rated 88 points: Blackberry, black cherry, dried floral notes (lavender, violet). It's very nice, though I should've decanted and I didn't drink with a proper large glass so I feel like I missed out on quite a bit. Seemed a little tight, but probably my circumstances and not a true reflection of the wine. Medium plus dry finish. 88 pts. (2333 views)
Tasted by Richard123 on 10/4/2015 & rated 91 points: Excellent Chianti, drinking well now. It still benefited from decanting, but with the air time it rounded out into a very smooth profile that combined all the key elements -- tannin, cherry, acidity -- to perfection. (1844 views)
Tasted by ryancshih on 10/3/2015: Garnet red color. Black cherries on the nose. On the palate, sour cherry and plum with tea notes. Medium plus tannins and acid. Full bodied. (1786 views)
Tasted by Lazerlar on 9/18/2015 & rated 90 points: A very nice chianti drinking nicely, my last bottle however (1640 views)
Tasted by PSUSteve on 11/24/2014 & rated 89 points: Poured through a VinTuri. Limited fruit and tight but not tannic if that makes sense. (2621 views)
Tasted by GARDEN on 11/16/2014 & rated 91 points: This is open for business... (2049 views)
Tasted by grape man on 10/5/2014: - Brick color with fast forming legs and aromas of dusty and mushroom. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of alcohol, black pepper and black currant with a medium/full body. Flabby texture with a long finish. (2230 views)
Tasted by gordongarlic on 8/11/2014 & rated 90 points: Smoothed out from a year ago and really nice right from the start. good fruit with a little bit of heft (2529 views)
Tasted by AAJR on 5/4/2014 & rated 87 points: Decanted for 2 hours prior to tasting. Not impressed & not much improvement from last taste 1 year ago. Still quite tannic with a bit of heat/alcohol. Flavors of dark cherry & tobacco. Fair at best Chianti at this point. (2864 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
