Tasted by rgprints on 2/12/2019 & rated 87 points: Good, but vertical compared to 2012, this one lost (2049 views)
Tasted by NoWineWiz on 4/1/2018 & rated 88 points: Well balanced black & red berries, fresh earth and a little black tea. Medium finish, soft tannins. (2554 views)
Tasted by rexmerlot on 9/9/2017 & rated 89 points: A clear dark purple. Clean nose of blackberry and spice. Was even better the second night. (3055 views)
Tasted by SchlaepDog on 9/7/2017 & rated 89 points: Nice red fruit nose with oak barrel notes as well. Smooth and creamy cherry/raspberry fruit greets you up front and lingers nicely on a medium long finish, but not much else is there as no secondary elements are present in this wine, fairly one note, but a delicious one. As the back label says, best enjoyed 4-5 years after bottling in 2012, which is now. Drink up soon for best enjoyment. (3020 views)
Tasted by PT insurgent on 8/13/2017: From a big name but the wine is just average.
Generically fruity, no nuance, little depth. Just ok. Drink up, age will not be kind. I hate points but anyone saying 90+ is insane. (3045 views)
Tasted by jschoenau on 7/8/2017 & rated 89 points: Delicious classic Ridge zin (2070 views)
Tasted by spicy1 on 2/18/2017 & rated 94 points: Have never met a Ridge wine that I didn't like. This Zin blend was just about perfect. Bold fruit and plenty of spice with a long finish. Had at a resort in Tucson and think they have very good storage. (1898 views)
Tasted by pkorogonas on 12/25/2016 & rated 85 points: It was alright (1521 views)
Tasted by NoWineWiz on 9/22/2016 & rated 86 points: A little fruitier and less complex than previous vintages, but still enjoyable. (1644 views)
Tasted by Jarndyce on 3/20/2016 & rated 90 points: Best bottle of the 4 I've had. Wish I had more.... (2580 views)
Tasted by bherbst4114 on 3/17/2016: Great value. Entry day drinker (2303 views)
Tasted by bherbst4114 on 3/6/2016 & rated 85 points: Not flushed with tannins. Had it with some sausage and it was great. Not overly jammy. (2112 views)
Tasted by shapsplace on 1/14/2016 & rated 91 points: Cherry and other dark berries, Fruit forward but not overly "fruity." A touch of red cherry licorice makes this a real easy drinker. Not overly complex but a super easy drinker w/ or w/o food. 90-92 (2288 views)
Tasted by depechemoroder on 12/27/2015 & rated 89 points: Fantastic value for money Zin that has a lot of zing. There is a cherry and blackberry dominated palate that is vibrant with lots of minerality beneath. This has a lot of texture and lovely acidity to compliment the fruit. Unmistakably Ridge, but pays a bit of homage to Italian Primitivo. Lovely with pasta. (2137 views)
Tasted by brentkoehler on 12/19/2015 & rated 90 points: Very nice blend. Wonderful bouquet. 2/3 zin but more rounded off as a blend. An easy drinking wine that most people will like no matter how deeply they are into wine. A good value. (1616 views)
Tasted by DouglasTyler on 8/29/2015 & rated 88 points: It was flat and not very interesting (2057 views)
Tasted by Twopawsup on 6/9/2015 & rated 89 points: Very good Zin for the money. Jammy with lots of red and dark berry flavors. (2255 views)
Tasted by rlove on 5/21/2015 & rated 88 points: 65% Zinfandel, 20% Petite Sirah, 9% Carignane, 3% Mataro, 2% Alicante Bouschet, and 1% Grenache. Nose of blackberry, eucalyptus, and spicy oak. Dark fruit in the mouth, moderate acidity, sweet finish. Great value. Drink now. (2143 views)
Tasted by paydon9 on 4/17/2015 & rated 87 points: Blackberry, eucalyptus, vanilla nose. Flavors follow suit with more blackberry, sour cherry, some pepper leading into a medium finish featuring dark berries. Medium bodied with drying tannins and low-medium acidity. (2117 views)
Tasted by jkvedar on 4/6/2015 & rated 89 points: Blackberry, dark cherry and some vanilla on the nose. Lots of dark fruit on the palate. Nice long finish with black raspberry and slight pepper. (2180 views)
Tasted by MadisonWIneGuy on 4/5/2015 & rated 88 points: Candied cherries, red licorice (zin), dustiness, coats the mouth, some black cherry (petite sirah), drying on the finish. Nice wine. 88+ pts. (1783 views)
Tasted by tbailey540 on 4/3/2015 & rated 88 points: Better the second day (1680 views)
Tasted by M. D. Van Norman on 3/2/2015 & rated 87 points: Smooth and fruity. This Zinfandel blend is tasty enough but still missing something. (1728 views)
Tasted by Jarndyce on 2/22/2015 & rated 89 points: Nice purple color. Boring nose, enjoyable palate and finish. Enjoyed more than the 1st bottle I had.

Was really acidic with chicken at dinner, much more enjoyable on it's own afterwards. Not sure if that is from the air or the pairing. (1658 views)
Tasted by Ryanmeulemans on 2/22/2015: In the glass the wine is a dark plum color with a concentrated darker core but some translucency. The initial nose on the wine is of dark fruits, black berry, dark cherry, some vanilla and the earth notes of pepper, spice, light cloves and leather. On the palate the wine coats your mouth with the heavier Zin giving you dark fruits some nice spice notes and med plus tannins. The wine also has a long finish, lasting in your mouth a while. In short this is a big bold but smooth wine with great complexity of the multiple varietals. (1559 views)

Ridge

Producer website | Wikipedia

Ridge Vineyards is a California winery specializing in premium Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay wines. Ridge produces wine at two winery locations in northern California. The original winery facilities are located at an elevation of 2,300 feet (700 m) on Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA near Cupertino, California. The other Ridge winery facilities are at Lytton Springs in the Dry Creek Valley AVA of Sonoma County.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
