Lively acids and a rich nose of black cherries and forest floor. Truffles, coffee, leather and tobacco, with a great finish. Totally blew my expectations. The bouquet has a rustic feel with dark cherry, mocha, and spice. On the palate there are rich flavors of blackberries and aged oak. A nice long dry finish. Excellent with lasagne. Buon appetito! (3028 views) | | Tasted by gstuart on 11/18/2007: Very intense color, dark - almost opaque, deep garnet with a small brick rim. Very intense bouquet, floral, cherry pie and leather. Balanced palate, currant and cherry, dark chocolate, meat and herb. Long supple finish. Very well made, especially for the vintage. Deep, dark red in the glass with purple rim. Nose of cranberry, black cherry, cola and leather. Refreshing flavors of red cherry and black cherry with notes of dust and earth. Light to medium-bodied. Short but almost crisp finish. Nice round, chewy tannins. Really a nice bottle of wine with good structure which leaves a good impression. Recommended at $20-$25.

And the price is right. Nose of dark and red cherries and dried autumn leaves. In the mouth this juicy and mouth-watering wine gushes with gobs of dark cherry, dried cranberry, and sweet tobacco. Nice light-medium body and chewy tannins. I tasted this on its own, but immediately after I wanted to rush out and eat a big bowl of spaghetti. (2428 views) |

It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.Italy Italian Wines (ItalianMade.com, The Italian Trade Commission) | Italian Wine Guide on the WineDoctorTuscany Tuscany (ItalianMade.com) | TuscanytChianti Consorzio Vino Chianti | Chianti (wikipedia) |
