Tasted by YingerW on 10/19/2019: Delicious, complex toasty notes as a result of bottle aging. Those that said it needs to be consumed by 2015 certainly had no idea the potential of this bottle. (529 views)
Tasted by Vinophiliac559 on 7/16/2016 & rated 90 points: Vegas w/ the guys; 7/14/2016-7/16/2016 (Las Vegas): This really surprised me. 2nd wine from this producer over the weekend. 1st was a better quality bottle but this still showed very well. Nice effervescence, not overly complex but very fresh and nice acidity, great with oysters. (1728 views)
Tasted by Tranquility Base on 9/18/2015 & rated 90 points: Had this at Frascati in San Francisco. Really a delightful way to start a special dinner. Sharp but not tart, refreshing, but with a lot of residual dimension, and having been to Barcelona, it somehow reminded me very much of the "palette" of that region, if that makes any sense. This isn't a deep Champagne experience that you ponder; it is more on the refreshing quaff side, but then it is more than that. (1736 views)
Tasted by bushrandall on 4/3/2015: Very light nuttiness, more powerful lemon and key lime on the nose. Taste is of a bright bead of golden light. Persistent--and clear--flavors of red apple and lemon on the finish. Really like this one. (1888 views)
Tasted by Martysfo on 1/1/2015 & rated 75 points: Not worth the time to open. Cloying aftertaste. (1929 views)
Tasted by Derek Darth Taster on 12/27/2014 & rated 86 points: Christmas Party 2014 (Pine Close): Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Moderately fine bubbles.
Nose is clean, medium- intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon-lime and green apple. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, light body. Medium- flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon-lime and green apple. Medium- finish.
Acceptable quality. Easy drinking sparkler with good acidity. Nothing much else to talk about though. Drink up. (2401 views)
Tasted by Rezy13 on 8/19/2014: Straw with green hues; yeast, sulfur, rich ripe apple, almost poached pear, biscuit; super bright and acidic, frothy, good yellow fruit, greener apple, Champagne-esque for sure; very good sparkler; definitely benefited from some airtime. (981 views)
Tasted by JVG on 7/25/2014 flawed bottle: Lightstruck. Skunky, oniony, and plasticky. It's in an amber bottle, so I don't know what happened. Possible it's TCA, but it really smells/tastes like lightstrike to me. (997 views)
Tasted by Martin Redmond on 7/15/2014 & rated 89 points: Pale gold color with lots of pin prick bubbles, and autolytic, yellow apple, citrus and mineral aromas. On the palate, it's clean and fresh with a moderately creamy mousse with apple, ginger, lemon, lime and mineral flavors. Lingering finish. Fantastic value at <$20!

Tasted by yofog on 4/15/2014 & rated 90 points: Incredibly good for the price, really classy juice with bready, leesy, oxidative qualities, richness without losing any freshness. (853 views)

Raventós i Blanc

Producer website
Raventos i Blanc was founded in 1986 by Josep-Maria Raventos, a member of the Codorníu family who wished to create a small, quality-oriented winery that would stand apart from the large co-ops in the area.
Today they own about 300 acres of vineyards (with a high percentage of Chalk in the soil, like Champagne) planted mostly to local varieties such as Macabeo (Viura), Xarel-lo and Parellada. All three of these
grapes are found in the excellent value Brut "L'Hereu".

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
