| Community Tasting Notes (average 90.8 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 15 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by decaturwinedude on 5/15/2024 & rated 93 points: A Good Tuesday, Vol. VIII: Collin, Bouchard, E Pepe, Mascarello, Paolo Bea and more: Terrific wine out of magnum. Pale yellow- slight cloudiness. Slight hint of Pepe fermentation still captured on open- higher acids/ lemony/little background funk- leesy-gives a natty feel. Salinity. Hard to draw comparisons. Singular wines. Very fresh still. Great with cheeses and food. (18 views) | | Tasted by ricknat1 on 10/20/2023 & rated 90 points: Crisp, almost chablis like but dryer, an interesting starter that i had nevr had before. Brought by Jim. Very nice (266 views) | | Tasted by sburtt on 11/6/2022 & rated 92 points: I like this wine, very beautiful palate, complex and mineral, nose initially complex quickly turns too be afected by the long contact with leese, becoming leesy... but still quity yummy! don't get the hype in price however, good now and in time (692 views) | | Tasted by rlove on 12/9/2020 & rated 91 points: Turbid straw. Lemon, almond oil, and salty flor-like notes. Crisper than you would expect with peach and almond flavors. The 2013 Trebbiani d'Abruzzo has gained some power and funk in the year since my last bottle. Good. (1470 views) | | Tasted by ant-1 on 11/21/2020: Superbe vin ! Bien trop cher par contre. Aromatique de fruits exotiques et acidité qui punche, longueur étonnante. Et le zing des vins naturels, sans leurs défaut. Trés beau. (1598 views) | | Tasted by LWI on 11/29/2019 & rated 91 points: Dinner with friends: Umami, dry, quite complex, young. (1978 views) | | Tasted by sburtt on 11/14/2019 flawed bottle: Matchstick nose... unfortunately this bottle was flawed, reduction I think, as I cannot possibly think this was caused by excessive SO2. Anyhow the nose didn’t come out either with decanting, however the palate was rich and complex. Hope my other bottles are in better shape. Will not rate for now (1499 views) | | Tasted by rlove on 11/4/2019 & rated 92 points: Turbid yellow. Peach, lemon, and almond oil on the rich nose. Some skin contact. Intense and concentrated almond flavors. Lengthy finish. The 2013 Trebbiani d'Abruzzo is fairly clean and fresh for an Emidio Pepe white; very good. (1371 views) | | Tasted by Arnaud Cbn on 6/29/2019 & rated 91 points: Pale yellow, cloudy (unfiltered). Biodynamic pioneer Pepe produces a much celebrated Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and this Trebbiano. Nose is aromatic - mineral notes, yeast, citrus, cooking apple, some honey and aniseed. Palate shows a lot of complexity and depth - freshness of the limestone, citrus. Long finish. (970 views) | | Tasted by rlove on 3/3/2019 & rated 92 points: Cloudy. An expressive and intriguing nose of peach, almond oil, and mint leads to flavors of peach and almond. Quite fresh and pure for an Emidio Trebbiano, with moderate length and crisp acidity. The 2013 is excellent. Drink now through 2029. (1201 views) | | Tasted by dcwino on 11/7/2018 & rated 93 points: 2018 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium – Kelly, RJ, Justin and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/7/2018-11/11/2018 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Fresh energetic nose displaying fresh white peach, lemon, jalapeno, perfume, spicy spices and steely mineral. Medium concentration, white peach and jalapeno driven palate impression, cool and energetic, bright acidity, strong steely mineral and a medium to long white peach and jalapeno driven finish. The jalapeno/green/slightly unripe expression is interesting. (1837 views) | | Tasted by mrbry83 on 9/7/2017: At Felix for Emidio Pepe winer dinner. Very interesting white. Very opaque. Quite balanced with acidity. Medium bodied. Paired well with the Arrosticini. Nose was a bit saline + savory + floral. On palate, slightly medicinal/herbaceous, a bit closed, needs time to open up. (1776 views) | | Tasted by AudunG on 4/24/2017 & rated 88 points: A bit cloudy appearance. More fruit than in the 2008. Dry and light. A bit short.
(2292 views) |

| Emidio Pepe Producer website | Importer: http://polanerselections.com/producer.php?pID=1753'> Polaner Selections Vinous articleTrebbiano d'AbruzzoTrebbiano d'Abruzzo is the Abruzzo region of Central Italy's dry white wine appellation partner to its iconic red, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. It is the only DOC in Abruzzo specializing exclusively in white wine.
According to the official DOC laws, a Trebbiano d'Abruzzo wine must be made from at least 85 to 100 percent of Trebbiano Toscano or Trebbiano Abruzzese or a combination of the two grapes. The latter is a distinct variety from the former and as its name suggests the more traditional local option. It is often called by the name of the appellation. Alternately up to 85 percent of Bombino Bianco can be used; this and the Trebbiano Abruzzese grape variety are thought by some to be identical, but DNA profiling has as yet failed to confirm this. The degree to which wineries across the Abruzzo region have correctly identified their vines is unsurprisingly open to question.Italy Italian Wines (ItalianMade.com, The Italian Trade Commission) | Italian Wine Guide on the WineDoctorAbruzzi Abruzzi (Italianmade.com) |
