Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 92.5 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 7 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by winemaker on 3/11/2019 & rated 93 points: This was really good. Stone fruits, hint of honey on the finish. Needed air and a warmer temperature to show its best. Blind you would think this was a Beaucastel Blanc. Will hold for years. Wish I had more. (445 views)
Tasted by silton on 9/8/2018 & rated 94 points: 94 is an high rating for a wine whose aromas are currently playing hard to get, but the palate gave off the impression of a young Corton-Charlamagne loaded with concrete and limestone with subtle stone fruits and melon and a finish that goes on forever and ever. With all the extract and above-average acidity for a Marsanne, I'd expect this to improve over the next 5 years if not 15. (666 views)
Tasted by Peter Kleban on 6/8/2018: **

Flowers and spine. Definitely fills the mouth. Medium to heavy weight, good length. Slight edge on its own, but complemented poached salmon beautifully (no pun intended). (520 views)
Tasted by Bob H on 2/8/2017: My 2nd time trying this wine.

Light yellow-gold in the glass; interesting nose, but I couldn't specifically point to one aspect of it that really stands out.

Taut and dry and full-bodied for a white - the label says 14.5% alcohol here, and I'd say that shows in the wine's "volume". All in, a nice complexity to this wine - definitely appeals to me. (734 views)
Tasted by Bob H on 9/4/2016: Lemon-yellow in the glass; lovely nose, with the slightest hint of petrol - a lot going on here.

Medium-bodied, maybe a touch less acidity than I would prefer - there's a viscosity to this wine that almost makes you feel like you are chewing it instead of drinking it. My first time trying this, and I would have to guess off this first glance that this is certainly a white that would repay aging. (727 views)
(1094 views)
