Tasted by Kayentacellars on 5/15/2023 & rated 98 points: Wow, this is what I look for in a single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon! (793 views)
Tasted by ewasowicz on 3/13/2023 & rated 93 points: Nose: jammy dark fruit and raisins
Taste: low tannins, refreshing complexity of blackberries and some light blue berry and some very dark chocolate just a hint. (781 views)
Tasted by AlanM68 on 3/11/2023 & rated 92 points: In a great spot right now - needs a couple of hours in a decanter to let it show properly (740 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 1/14/2023: PNP - black in glass with no real change from a few years ago. On nose, blackberry, plum, cinnamon and vanilla/oak (not overdone). Palate had a similar flavor profile to nose. Full body, medium acidity, low tannins (integrated) and long finish. Enjoyed this. 92+/-

This has aged very well. (916 views)
Tasted by Tahlequahdave1972 on 1/15/2022 & rated 92 points: Exactly what I was hoping it would be. PNP but consumed over two days. Day 1 was a bit racy and untamed. Day 2 was solid and balanced with all elements contributing to an enjoyable experience. Needs 2+ hours decant but also will go another 5+ years in the cellar. (1738 views)
Tasted by msf6msf6 on 1/2/2022 & rated 92 points: Really solid second wine. (1313 views)
Tasted by dkentaustin on 12/23/2021 & rated 94 points: Deep claret color. Blue and blackberry flavors with mocha and white oak creating almost a white chocolate touch. Chalky tannins and good structure - seems to have years to go.

p.s. bison hash lettuce wraps, shishito peppers and corn on the cob. (1254 views)
Tasted by ewasowicz on 10/2/2021 & rated 92 points: Ruby color
Nose: blueberry and caramel.
Taste: anis, licorice, light tannins with a nice finish. This opened up over two hours. (1390 views)
Tasted by Philip67 on 8/30/2021 & rated 91 points: Sweet candied blackberry. Medium acidity and tannin, moderate finish and straightforward. (1398 views)
Tasted by fdub on 2/28/2021 & rated 93 points: Outstanding balance and depth. (1323 views)
Tasted by CaroPalms on 6/17/2020: I bought two bottles of this wine. I had one last week, and between the three of us, probably drank it within 45 minutes of opening it. We really didn’t like it. It wasn’t that it went bad, but it had nothing to it. No punch, no depth, no flavors. I tried the second bottle tonight, and tried to give it a chance over the course of 4 hours. Unfortunately, it’s the same result as last week’s bottle. (1875 views)
Tasted by tjin on 6/9/2020 & rated 90 points: Aromas of nutmeg, pepper, and toffee, with plum, blackberry, and cocoa on the palate. Silky tannins and long, smooth finish. (1696 views)
Tasted by ewasowicz on 4/18/2020 & rated 88 points: Nose: raisins,
Taste: oak, strong tannins, raisins
I am hoping this better after a day of being open. A little disappointed. (1767 views)
Tasted by mischwine on 3/29/2020 & rated 91 points: delicious! (1684 views)
Tasted by wineotim on 6/23/2019 & rated 93 points: Met my expectations. The emphasis is on fruit not oak here. Cherry, berry, cranberry, and some cassis notes. Not a heavy wine but not a light weight either. Finishes with good grip. Showed it's best on the second day. Would buy again. (2788 views)
Tasted by Winowhyno on 3/6/2019 & rated 91 points: Deep dark purple....very very berry and cherry.....dry...smooth finish. Very good value at the $54 sale price. I wouldn't pay full retail at $90 (2206 views)
Tasted by j30 on 2/9/2019 & rated 91 points: Rich and bold like what you expect from a nice Cali cab. Ample fruits and round tannins. Enjoyed with steak. (2136 views)
Tasted by jrhonda160 on 12/26/2018 & rated 96 points: What a beautiful, great bottle of wine. Almost black in color and as smooth vanilla silk. (2110 views)
Tasted by norm@bontjeco.com on 12/3/2018: Young (2241 views)
Tasted by AGELVIS on 8/4/2018 & rated 91 points: Four hour decant. Deep dark inky magenta color/appearance. Wild flower perfume, maple, black currant, boysenberry, raisin and root beer on the rich, brooding nose. Super smooth, dry palate, with very nice acidity and balance. Full, round tannins on the medium long finish. This is at the front end of it’s drinking window and should be even better in 2-3 years. (2298 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 4/14/2018 & rated 93 points: Can't find notes. I don't drink a lot of Napa cabs anymore (not good QPR relative to Italy) but this wine was excellent - great fruit with structure to age - decanted for 3 hours and paired with steaks. 93+/- Would buy again. (2356 views)
Tasted by J.S on 3/5/2018 & rated 91 points: Drank via Coravin at Dean & Deluca
Not my favourite wine, the bouquet comes through with red fruit which is pleasant. However at first sip the acidic side of this wine takes over. It is not at all integrated, and hits you far to hard. Sharp cutting floral and red fruit also is integrated in the flavour.
Perhaps this wine is overly acidic, or simply the acid is not integrated, or in the right order. This wine is definitely a blast to the palate. (2432 views)
Tasted by vespasian on 2/20/2018: Dark deep and brooding on the nose. Quite serious; inky dark and mineral on the palate. Needs time. Great potential. (2265 views)
Tasted by sdwineguru on 4/16/2017 & rated 92 points: Dark garnet; herbaceous, cocoa, mint and wood nose; mid-big body; good fruit extract; tight tannins; long rich semi-chewy finish. (4193 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
