Tasted by cyc on 10/15/2023 flawed bottle: Corked (208 views)
Tasted by WineJ2019 on 10/15/2023 & rated 93 points: Another winner from Terrien mixed chard case. Ready now, but no rush either. Lemon curd, a touch of oak, slight acidity, very balanced and not showing signs of age other than a slight softening of the overall profile. Well done. (362 views)
Tasted by Wine G on 3/11/2023 & rated 92 points: This one is sooo good. Certainly drink now or soon, but is firing on all cylinders. (385 views)
Tasted by WineJ2019 on 10/14/2022 & rated 93 points: I’ve been working my way through a mixed case of Terrien chardonnays and seem to enjoy each bottle a bit more. Shared w guests who gave two big thumbs up. Balanced in all ways. (525 views)
Tasted by Ron Slye on 4/12/2021 & rated 94 points: Ok. I sort of want not to like this. It has some oak and I have convinced myself I am very averse to oak. But this integrates it so nicely. The oak enhances and supports the other flavors rather than hiding or masking them. Such lovely lemon and lemon curd, and a very smooth palate with a lingering lovely finish. It almost feels like if there was one more unit (whatever that is) of oak it would be over the line for me. As much as I look closely thinking it has crossed the line, it has not. Just a lovely lovely Chardonnay. (578 views)
Tasted by Peter Kleban on 3/11/2021: ***

The word that best describes this wine is elegance. An exquisite lightness, poise and stability betray the winemaker's deft hand. And not for the first time, other vintages are on this level as well, even tho the grapes are from IIRC two different vineyards. Neither fragile nor tenuous, this lovely chardonnay plays well against a variety of foods. (422 views)
Tasted by MaineMark on 11/3/2019 & rated 94 points: Served cellar temperature, which was perfect. Pale yellow color showed no sign of age. Beautiful honey and pear aromas and incredibly soft mouthfeel. This is fantastic now, and certainly can stand plenty more time in the cellar.

4/11/2020 update
Second bottle consumed. Same great pear and honey taste and soft mouthfeel. I will put my remaining couple of bottles away for for 2 more years to try them with 10+ years age. (695 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson

Sonoma County

Mendocino County

Sonoma Valley

Sonoma County, California, is one of the most important winegrowing regions in the whole of the United States. Vines have been planted here since the 1850s and, apart from the inevitable hiatus brought about by Prohibition, the county's relationship with wine has been prolific and unbroken.

Viticulturally speaking, Sonoma County is divided into three distinct sections: Sonoma Valley, Northern Sonoma and Sonoma Coast. Each of these has its own AVA title and encompasses several sub-AVAs within its boundaries.
