Tasted by Cmellison on 8/20/2023 & rated 92 points: Very tasty cab that seems to have aged well. (641 views)
Tasted by Dwolfordwines on 10/9/2022 & rated 88 points: On the nose, black currant and espresso, on the palet, loads of plum and sweet spice, tannins and acidity are very well balanced. Length is ok. Wouldn’t hold any longer (948 views)
Tasted by vitroman on 1/28/2022 & rated 87 points: Drinkable, but no outstanding attributes to report. (1422 views)
Tasted by Redfisher on 12/2/2020 & rated 90 points: A surprisingly good value at this price point. Vey bold with full fruit and long finish (2252 views)
Tasted by ChristopherSiversen on 5/16/2020 & rated 89 points: aerated and helped on initial taste. Was hesitant due to age but did not disappoint. (2619 views)
Tasted by Rmcolin on 9/21/2019 & rated 92 points: Muito bom. Madeira da um bom equilíbrio mas sem deixar enjoativo. Notas de baunilha e amoras. (2802 views)
Tasted by coal9 on 8/10/2019 & rated 89 points: Let it breathe in the bottle for 90 minutes. During the 2nd and 3rd hours the fruit was almost too intense, flavors of cherry, cassis, blueberry, and spice. Average bouquet. By the 4th hour, the fruit mellowed, revealing some structure and a better balance of blackberry, cassis, spice, with hints of oak and cocoa. Medium-bodied with medium finish. The tannins were almost fully integrated, but enough remain to carry this wine further. I did not cellar this bottle, so it impressed me how well it held up for more than 3 years. (2664 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 8/8/2019 & rated 89 points: Round, full bodied, and nicely integrated, there's good consistency here. Gentle tannin and zesty intensity frame succulent black currant, blueberry, and Tootsie Pop candy flavors that bend towards the savory end of the spectrum. All around a nice wine. (2300 views)
Tasted by vincemcd61 on 8/1/2019 & rated 88 points: had with pasta marinara with meatballs (1827 views)
Tasted by Joestrummer57 on 8/4/2018 & rated 89 points: Full bodied and dry. Did not disappoint. (3189 views)
Tasted by morach on 8/3/2018 & rated 89 points: Flavorful, with pleasant aromas of cassis and wood. Full body, nice complexity, tannins are there but fairly mellow. Goes great with steak. (2536 views)
Tasted by vespasian on 7/17/2018: Deep ruby; ripe nose - red currant, blackberry/cassis; supple - shows nice weight. Pretty intense fruit. Quite youthful - you'd want a steak to pair with this to counter the intensity here. Pretty single-minded and bruising actually, could do with just a little more restraint though its true to its origin. (2547 views)
Tasted by Maphill01 on 6/27/2018: Decent. What you’d expect for a Napa cab at this price. Relatively simple, fruit forward, but not disagreeable. (637 views)
Tasted by pmg. on 6/21/2018: .. (2721 views)
Tasted by Colorado3G on 4/28/2018 & rated 88 points: Community score is on target. This was bottle 5 for the night with a group of friends....it filled the gap just fine. A good weekday wine for sure - but nothing stellar! (2966 views)
Tasted by corkcellar on 3/11/2018 & rated 89 points: great deal - $14 per bottle, outstanding qpr even double would be worth it these days.... This vintage has nice fruit and a bit of heft, a very good daily wine. (1930 views)
Tasted by Clark W Griswold on 2/5/2018 & rated 88 points: It’s a nice wine for $22 price tag. Beautiful nose. Crowd pleasing style. A touch sweet and syrupy. Long finish. (2187 views)
Tasted by SGates on 1/20/2018 & rated 88 points: Leveler Wine Tasting (Saul's House): Leveler Wine Tasting - Red #7
Last place but tough competition. Blueberries and Cassis but not the depth or complexity of the others. (2397 views)
Tasted by easttide on 12/18/2017 & rated 90 points: Pats beat the Steelers. This wine was enjoyed, as was the finish. (2545 views)
Tasted by Powlin on 12/16/2017 & rated 89 points: nez : tabac vanille
gout : gros fruits acidite presente leger tannins long en bouche (2243 views)
Tasted by easttide on 10/9/2017 & rated 89 points: love it. (3113 views)
Tasted by Cancan12 on 10/1/2017 & rated 95 points: Full bodied. Blueberry and chocolate aroma. Cherry, blackberry and spice flavors. Dry and smooth, but a bit weak on the finish. (2963 views)
Tasted by easttide on 8/30/2017 & rated 89 points: one of my fav for napa qpr. (3103 views)
Tasted by bufito on 8/19/2017 & rated 89 points: Smooth can. Nose is kind of flat but strong flavors of ripe berry and strong tannins. Balanced (2761 views)
(3145 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
