Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 12/10/2023: Right in prime form right now. And darn delicious for it. (429 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 10/19/2023: Savory and long, salty and mineral finish. Darn good. (461 views)
Tasted by bookert on 8/3/2023 & rated 92 points: Toasty and structured, with honey notes. Good to go already. (207 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 7/21/2023: Rich and toasty, maybe with a little bit of an electric green funk, but thats probably what was in my glass before. With some salty minerality as well. Direct and focused. Really good right now. Best I have ever had from it. Really salty and saline and powerful. (351 views)
Tasted by signotim on 12/31/2022 & rated 93 points: Beautiful champagne. Classy, elegant bubbles with tasty mineral notes, brioche, and tart citrus. The freshness on the finish invites you back for another sip. Great wine. (341 views)
Tasted by Aravind Asok on 3/11/2022: Wow. Utterly fantastic at this stage. Showing all the energy of before, but complemented by some soft secondary honry and hazelnut notes. Stunning showing. (586 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 1/2/2022: Lots of aged rich expression of fruit on the nose. (797 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 7/30/2020: Really coming along and drinking pretty amazing right now - much better than last time I had it. (977 views)
 Tasted by pfisher17 on 3/28/2020 & rated 94 points: Wonderful (766 views)
Tasted by Aravind Asok on 1/2/2020: Opened yesterday. Notes pretty much identical to last time. Loads of citrus, with a touch of vanilla, then some leesy notes and a touch of cranberry; a slight oxidative note as well. On the palate, lovely acidity, some cranberry, softer mousse than before. Clean finish. Would love to see this with more time. (672 views)
Tasted by bspahn on 11/3/2019 & rated 90 points: This is well above average for a $40 champagne, but not worth a 92. It has a slightly oxidative style with lots of almond and brioche notes. Would have benefited from more acid. (595 views)
Tasted by Aravind Asok on 3/22/2019: Great bottle of champagne. Maybe comes of as richer than it is because of the mousse. On the nose, loads of lemon/lime, a slight hint of leesy character, leading into a light cranberry note. Very fresh nose. On the palate, excellent acidity, and a full, frothy mousse suggests this is very rich, but as it fades it shows round and silky. Very clean finish with a touch of mint. (868 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 3/15/2019: Savory and rich, better on day two. (791 views)
Tasted by Vino Me on 3/11/2019 & rated 92 points: Opened by Mark and drank next to a 2006 Hugues Godme (Sister and Brother). This was my preferred bottle of the 2 based on it's freshness and purity. The superior vintage likely played a part as well. 92 points. (979 views)
Tasted by beezer6 on 3/7/2019 & rated 92 points: WX+ Meetup (Urbanbelly Wicker Park - Chicago, IL): Funky and toasty. Nice bubble structure. Tart. Long finish. Very nice. Was unfamiliar with this producer before today. (551 views)
Tasted by brigcampbell on 12/23/2018: This a great bottle in the lean acid style which I enjoy. It could easily parade as a zero dosage but I guess it all depends on when they pick. Love the acid, salinity, lemon, lime and a hint of meringue. (847 views)
Tasted by Frank Murray III on 12/19/2018: 1999s poured blind, with a few unplanned extras (The Winery Restaurant in Newport Beach, CA (The OC)): This was the replacement for the 1999 Mt Eden Chard, and so it was the outlier of the entire evening, not of the 1999 vintage that was our theme. Notably, I thought this was one of the best bottles of the night. 60 Chard / 40 PN, 5 g/l dosage. We've drank this bottle before and this bottle showed as well as the previous. Terrific acidity, lemony/citrus, green apple, some light ref fruit tones and finishing with a limey/citrus tone. Very good. (1491 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 8/12/2018 & rated 92 points: Courtesy of MiY. Apple and almond qualities; bright and focused. Stone, apple and dried yeast on the palate. Fine bead with nice acidity. (642 views)
Tasted by brigcampbell on 7/23/2018: Book Club - Grand Finale (FMIII in the OC): Blind: correctly guessed Godme. Brother or sister? no idea but I'll take the whole family for $1000, Alex.

Lean and mean green apple, really good, with strong acid and light brioche. There's a strong undertone of salinity which hinted at Godme as I've noted that "salty" flavor with them before. The finish is angular and there's a caraway seed across the tongue. Really like this wine but prefer it with something to snack on. (913 views)
Tasted by Frank Murray III on 7/21/2018: Some wines with friends (My House In The South OC): Poured blind. 60% Chard / 40% PN, with a dosage of 5 g/l. Brioche, raspberry, green apple (which led me to think Montagne), chalk, salty with a finish of lime zest. Terrific. (1261 views)
Tasted by Charlie Carnes on 5/5/2018 & rated 93 points: Excellent grower Grand Cru. Begins with a puff of mineral dust, follows with apple skin, crisp, snappy finish. Lovely! (689 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 4/21/2018 & rated 92 points: Courtesy of m/m tlv. Bright and lovely. Green apple, almond and citrus with a pronounced minerality on the nose and palate. Fine bead; good underlying acidity. (544 views)
Tasted by pfisher17 on 1/1/2018 & rated 95 points: Nutty finish, smooth, great Pinot Noir integration (462 views)

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
