Tasted by bbcc66 on 5/2/2021 & rated 89 points: Drank over 2 days. Day 2 was as good as day 1. Nice aromas. Consistent lively tastes of red & darker fruits. Interesting blend. (862 views)
Tasted by SrMundo on 2/25/2021 & rated 90 points: Nice CA blend. Unremarkable, but for being well balanced and enjoyable. (844 views)
Tasted by The Wine Write on 2/3/2020: Really solid red blend, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon. Nice, spicy aromatics. Silky texture, delicious savory fruit flavors, and a lively finish. (1372 views)
Tasted by Roger Patterson on 9/9/2019 & rated 92 points: Ripe blackberry and black cherry, herbacious, vanilla, mineral; light toast. Nice complex package but will probably show better as it ages as it is still tight and grippy. At winery with JAnie Willheim and Toni. (1603 views)
Tasted by Stephen Rash on 4/3/2019 & rated 91 points: Dark garnet in color and opaque; aromas of sweet cherry, raspberry, and violets on day 1 that changed to blackberry, plum, violets, and pepper on the second day; the palate consisted of tastes of blackberry and pepper with a smooth, lush mouthfeel w/slight grip on the tannins; medium(+) body, medium(+) alcohol at 15.6%, medium(+) tannins; long, floral and peppery finish. Initial red fruit changed to black fruit on day 2. Big nose, big palate, smooth finish. (1608 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 3/9/2019 & rated 90 points: A blend 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Malbec and Grenache. Peppery notes of cassis, tar, bay leaf, and earth on an open knit, sultry-textured bed of black fruit, and melted tannin. Tremendous balance masks the evident RS to and high (15.6%) ABV. Tasty stuff. (1151 views)
Tasted by Babik on 2/2/2019 & rated 87 points: Major residual sugar, like a lesser bottle of Justin cab. Poor QPR. Have had better bottles of this. (1337 views)
Tasted by wrm on 12/8/2018 & rated 89 points: A bit gamey, and a little too much heat. (936 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 7/17/2018: Odd tomato leaf on the nose. Odd because my palate seems a bit off. Ok, on the second taste fresher than I first thought. With good fruit characte.r (924 views)
Tasted by Joe Kane on 7/17/2018: cab, pv, cf, and a touch of malbec. Super ripe fruit, big bodied, good wine for Prisoner fans for sure. (992 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
