Tasted by acyso on 4/12/2024 & rated 95 points: Raveneau MdT and Chapelot (Chicago, IL): Luminous bottling. I didn't love this on release, but man this has gotten super impressive. Rounded, powerful, and rich, with clear delineation of red fruit and a broad, complex palate that also shows just the right amount of acidity to cut through all of that material. Sappy, rich, and powerful. This has developed very well. In my past experience, the Dom Rosé has always come off a bit steely on release, but a few years really does wonders. (734 views)
Tasted by LIE-user on 3/31/2024 & rated 96 points: What a great champagne! Probably the best champagne I drank for quite some time. Very round, fruity and elegant at the same time. (429 views)
Tasted by Burgnick on 3/21/2024 & rated 92 points: Not a fan of the 2006 vintage for Champagne, but the 06 Dom was very good with strawberries, mousse and roses. Good vibrancy. Drinking well. Much better than the regular 06 DP. 92-93 (630 views)
Tasted by Hercules on 12/26/2023: Amazing! All that you want a rose champagne to be!! (928 views)
Tasted by paul195 on 9/4/2023 & rated 94 points: 3 of 12 paired with Krug NV Rose 25eme. Both had similar beautiful copper color, nice bubbles, fresh fruit with red berry notes and excellent acidity, perfect balance nice finish. (1577 views)
Tasted by J+B_Wines on 7/25/2023 & rated 96 points: I don’t know what I was expecting but this wine was different, very different from any champagne I’d had before. Tasting it blind the only giveaway that it wasn’t a red wine was the bubbles. The palate was so bold and pronounced ripe fruit and bright acidity. Such a beautiful bright burnt orange color(I’m not even sure that color exists). A nose of dried figs and espresso. (1538 views)
Tasted by nmmnori on 7/1/2023 & rated 93 points: Tasted with TH Pan. A wine that requires a lot of air to show its true colors. I find this wine to be incredibly floral with much lighter and more elegant red fruits than one might expect. Beautiful. (1550 views)
Tasted by Genghis88 on 3/31/2023 & rated 94 points: @Rob and Amanda's celebrating little baby Celine Capri entry to our world.

Deep rose colored, large intermittent bubbles
Raspberries and red fruit off the nose. Cotton candy. Tastes like the nose.
Just a delicious bottle of fizz. LOVE THIS!!! (2161 views)
Tasted by Sean Tay on 3/23/2023 & rated 93 points: Medium+ nose intensity with notes of flora, roses, strawberry, toast, bread. (1755 views)

Tasted by Sean Tay on 1/28/2023 & rated 93 points: Medium+ nose intensity with notes of flora, roses, strawberry, toast, bread. Can’t really score it as I have no comparison side by side. (1609 views)

Tasted by MRB321 on 12/23/2022 & rated 94 points: Very nice nose, roses, sweet berries, tastes light, low acidity, apricot, lichy (1203 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 11/17/2022: Served in little tiny flutes, but still wonderful. Serve in a regular white wine stem next time! (1820 views)
Tasted by paul195 on 10/9/2022 & rated 94 points: 2 of 12 As with the first bottle last spring this was delicious. A festive start to a fine meal, bridging to food beautifully (1822 views)
Tasted by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on 9/16/2022 & rated 93 points: Popped and poured, and guzzled. Had at the end of the evening after half a Donen red wines. Great palate cleanser and clearly a well made (and delicious) champagne. So sad to see the price of these beauties placing them further and further out of reach. (1784 views)
Tasted by Mathijs81 on 8/13/2022 & rated 94 points: Worth every penny. Stunning champagne. No need to hold any further. (1959 views)
Tasted by Odedis.Wine.reviews on 7/12/2022 & rated 92 points: Orange in color.

On the nose raspberries, citrus, strawberries, limes, green apples, yeast, spices and minerals.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and medium sized bubbles.

Dry on the palate with lemons, raspberries, strawberries, spices, earth, minerals, green apples, herbs and white pepper.

Nice finish with bitter herbs.

This 16 year old Rosé Champagne still feels very young and fresh. Not as much yeast /bread notes as I expected at this point.

Well balanced with a nice mouthfeel, and drinks very nicely now.

Needs an hour to open up properly, and better when not too cold.

Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.

A great sipping wine, and good with food too. Spicy, rich and entertaining.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$400. (2198 views)
Tasted by paul195 on 5/9/2022 & rated 94 points: 1 of 12 beautiful coppery color, lots of red berries on the nose, fresh, young, tight. Nice mousse and energy. This has a lot of complexity and layers of juicy fruit, delicious. Excited to see how this evolves over the next decade (2585 views)

Tasted by The Vines That Bind on 1/22/2022 & rated 94 points: Continue to adore this wine. See 4/20/2020 note to recall detail. Unapologetically juicy red fruited pates-des-fruits. Toasty as well with doughy brioche. Completely delicious. (3877 views)

At Dom Perignon Hautvillers

Blanc 2012, 2010, 2008, P2 2003, P2 2002, P2 1998, P3 1992
Rose 20008, 2006, P2 1995

2012
typical nose after oyster shell, toast, refreshing acidity, citrus, well drinkable at the moment. Dosage between 4-6g/L. I preferred against 2010. 96

2010
more reluctant compared to 2012, some exotic fruits, makes fun to drink it now. Not the potential as 2008. 93

2008
Still great to drink. Lush, exotic fruits, sea breeze, balanced, powerful, still fresh. Roasted almonds, salted caramell. 98

P2 2003
Feels broader than the P2 2002, less acidity, lots of mango and pineapple, less oyster shell than 2002. 94

P2 2002
more acidity than 2003, but my problem with this wine, it has an unnecessary high dosage. 95

P2 1998
More complex and structured than 2002 at the moment, some nice honey notes to give depth and creamieness. 96

Rose 2008
The nose is full of red berries and red apples, some black currant. A sublime champagne which will be released next week. Raspberry sirup but still elegant and powerful. 97

Rose 2006
For a 2006 good but no chance against 2008. Maybe a hint too alcoholic and the finish too short. 94

P2 Rose 1995
PN nose, comparable to a Musigny, smoky, flinty, balanced, at least 10 more years. 97

P3 1992
Unbelievable fresh, toasty, citric and just a touch of rostaed aromas. Nice 1992. 96 (3655 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 11/13/2021: La Fete: Gala Dinner (Chelsea Piers: Pier 60): Very sweet, lots of berries, very young, give it more time. (3430 views)
Tasted by ricardito on 11/6/2021 & rated 95 points: Picture fresh… overnight… yeast based waffles with a compote of Rainier cherries and Fragaria vesca on top, lingering on the back end for about 11 minutes- YIKES! Essence of Rose, typically 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, and deservedly drank thru a silastic straw by every rock star you thought you knew. Killer bubbly by any standard! (2160 views)

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France.
Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
