Tasted by jnewman77 on 9/17/2023: Another very good bottle; I really enjoy this riesling; classic nose with lemon, lime, pear, petrol, stone, and honeysuckle; good depth and a lovely saline tinged finish. (405 views)
Tasted by jnewman77 on 11/26/2021: Excellent (1292 views)
Tasted by jnewman77 on 2/5/2021: First bottle of the Muenchberg from Ostertag and it is immediately on the rebuy list; this was killer stuff; the nose had a good whiff of petrol initially, but this quickly integrated into a nose driven by mineral and soil tones with lime, pear, red apple, and floral notes; just a hint of lychee or some tropical note; the palate is vibrant and full throttle with flavor, but feels very refined and elegant despite the concentration. As much as I like the Fronholz, this is clearly a level up for me; killer stuff (1435 views)
Tasted by Deux Chevaux on 9/26/2020: Medium golden. Moderately rich, lovely deep yellow fruit with suggestions of saline. Complex and somewhat creamy. Fabulous when paired with kelp infused fresh seafoods. (At Harbor House, Elk.) (1587 views)
(2106 views)
Tasted by acyso on 1/12/2020 & rated 88 points: 流沙包: "It's like the promise of a Belgian waffle fulfilled" (Chicago, IL): I think the two bottles of Ostertag suffered a little bit being consumed after the Haags. The difference made the weight of this wine stick out like a sore thumb. The nose shows some orange blossom and other green herbs, but also a distinct lychee component. On the palate, this shows quite oily and is very true to Alsace, but at the end of the day, it's too weighty for a riesling in my mind. I also didn't like the phenolic bitterness on the finish here, but I suspect that given some additional time, that component would have faded away. (2729 views)
Tasted by andrewstevenson.com on 10/5/2019 & rated 90 points: The nose has elegant, floral, peachy white flowers, and even feels slightly grapey. I might even have guessed at it having a bit of Muscat in it, had it been served blind.
Much richer on the palate than I was expecting, with a nice weight, but also excellent balance with lovely bright acidity on the middle and especially on the finish. Very food friendly. (1297 views)
Tasted by pren on 7/30/2019 & rated 89 points: 拉辛,地质学课。 granite wine 按道理一般elegant salty。这酒不太明显,对riesling来说,算是有厚度和texture的。malo。 (1108 views)
Tasted by ManhattanBeach on 4/3/2019: A private dinner at Berry Bros (The Townhouse, No 3 Pickering Place): Beautifully clear and fresh with a blast of lime-marmalade. Long, tingling. With Salt-baked and glazed celeriac with yeasted butter sauce, charred brassicas and chive oil. (1173 views)
