Tasted by Wulffila on 8/15/2021 & rated 89 points: Great acidity and a decent backbone as well. Will last for several years. (1151 views)
Tasted by ShakinSwedens on 6/26/2021: Found this elegant and mineral, it took on colour and weight over the 2.5 hours we drank this, and revealed more as it did so, but was tightly wound straight out of the bottle. 12% alcohol- enjoyably restrained! (1312 views)
Tasted by KeithAkers on 5/5/2021 & rated 88 points: The nose is balanced and aromatic with tones of almond paste, red apples, nougat, spiced pears, meyer lemons, nectarines, stone fruits, crushed rocks, yellow flowers, and smoke. The Medium bodied feel is balanced but lacks some depth with crisp, high acidity. This is a good introduction into Etna Biancos that fully delivers in the low to mid-$20s. (670 views)
Tasted by Ellenkf on 4/6/2021 & rated 89 points: Restrained nose. Bone dry Razor sharp acid and drying minerality. Salt and rocks, ginger root and citrus, notably blood orange and lemon. Tight and impactful, though finishes short. Would be boss with sardines. (1507 views)
Tasted by lifeattable on 3/19/2021 & rated 87 points: Good, but lacking the richness and intensity of the best Etnas.
Interesting that another reviewer suggested it needs some air - something to consider for next time perhaps. (1447 views)
Tasted by bevetroppo on 11/24/2020 & rated 87 points: I have to say this got distinctly better on Day 2. It's a light gold color, but yesterday the nose was muted, and took almost 45 minutes to become somewhat expressive. There was maybe a tropical top note but not much fruit on the nose, accompanied by toasted straw and saline. Medium-bodied with underripe pineapple and nutty flavors on the palate with a dry, dull finish. It's labeled 12% but has the unctuous quality of a higher alcohol wine.

Today if it hadn't gone from ugly duckling to swan, it at least managed to catch its stride. Hints of green apple, mandarin orange and hazelnuts on the nose, in the mouth still an almost Chablis-like austerity but the yellow fruit and orange peel poke through enough to rescue it. Green-tasting on the tart finish. This is easily the driest Sicilian table wine I've ever had, but I would confine it to aperitif status-it got slaughtered last night by some simple pan-fried sea scallops. And what, decant it?  Tasted by RyanS_nyc on 9/8/2020 & rated 91 points: Lemon, minerals. Med body with a saline tinged finish. Perfect with oysters. (1393 views)
Tasted by wabi47 on 8/10/2020 & rated 88 points: less crisp than expected (1312 views)
Tasted by LW31 on 6/22/2020: Bright, salty, mineral, very drinkable. For $24 a real steal. Great summer wine. Probably will age for a year or two. (1427 views)
Tasted by gord558 on 6/6/2020: From Eric Asimov-NYT 5/21/2020The carricante grape is one of the great discoveries that has come with the emergence to the world of the Mount Etna region in Sicily. Its distinctive salinity makes a wonderful partner for all sorts of seafood. This is the entry-level bottle from Benanti, which also makes Pietra Marina, perhaps the greatest example of carricante’s potential, a wine capable of aging and evolving for years. (1234 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 5/30/2020 & rated 88 points: During a merchant tasting. 100% Carricante (local variety). Very pale color. Hard to place the nose, some grass, herbal, flowers. Light palate, like an Albarino or Chasselas. More apero than dinner white. (1931 views)
Tasted by retired_and_roving on 4/16/2020: Wine in the time of Corona Virus - Quarantining in NYC & NH; 3/7/2020-9/1/2020 (NYC/NH): Thursday night Zoom Happy Hour with friends. Transitioning to this after a glass of the Boudignon Anjou Blanc - quite different. Love the texture of the Carricante - there is a richness that is supported by bright acidity and minerals. Apple and pear, with almost a sea saltiness on the finish and some waxy texture. Delicious and a great value at $24. (1671 views)
Tasted by retired_and_roving on 4/2/2020: Wine in the time of Corona Virus - Quarantining in NYC & NH; 3/7/2020-9/1/2020 (NYC/NH): Opened for our Thursday night Zoom call with friends. Great way to kick off the evening. This wine delivers a great flavor profile for the $24 price tag - waxy texture and spicey (white pepper) saline finish. (1516 views)
Tasted by Lychee on 4/1/2020 & rated 86 points: Had the bottle over a period of 2 days. Day 1 had bright minerality with a subtle green mouthfeel and cool citrus on the nose - pairs amazingly well with seafood. Wine did not unfold well into day 2 and turned very one dimensional - lemon peel on the mouth and nose all the way. (821 views)
Tasted by retired_and_roving on 3/25/2020: Wine in the time of Corona Virus - Quarantining in NYC & NH; 3/7/2020-9/1/2020 (NYC/NH): More quarantine weeknight wine - consumed over 2 nights with no change in profile. Great texture and mineral finish. (1485 views)
Tasted by RoyaltyCoins on 3/17/2020 & rated 88 points: Pale straw in the glass, some light skin contact it looks like.

Nose: faint white flower, some reduction?

Mouth: Light white pear, lemon peel, hint of leesy spice through the mid palate finish shows a splash of sea spray, citrus oil, and light lager beer notes.

Overall: Light and splashy with good cut, a fun summer sipper, would also show brilliantly with many foods. Drink now - 2024. 100% Carricante.

Tasted by saintpauliaally on 3/3/2020: I will reiterate what others have said before: It’s incredible that a warmer growing region (Southern Italy) can produce such a cool-climate wine.
Mineral-driven, citrusy— this wine is fermented and aged entirely in steel. Volcanic wine at its finest. Etna Bianco falls in the foothills of Mount Etna, an active volcano that exemplifies the concept of vintage variation (one big eruption and the wine growing region is in complete chaos.)
Cru Selections (Woodinville, WA).

Gorgeous pairing with Bon Appetit magazine’s “Squash au vin” recipe. (830 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 2/29/2020: With some fresh herb character to it. A bit savory and nutty on the palate. (1023 views)
