Tasted by Biskuit on 4/7/2024 & rated 92 points: Very balanced, bright fruit (320 views)
Tasted by FlickWines on 11/18/2023: Agent event V55 (816 views)
Tasted by Sugarb on 11/1/2023 & rated 91 points: Softer than I experience most Del Dottos. Does not require decanting, definitely a pop n' pour candidate. Put this in the drink now category, expect this to be post-peak in 18-24 months. (811 views)
Tasted by Francophile1 on 8/24/2023 & rated 90 points: A fruit forward new world style cab with both black and blue fruit and a jammy finish. Easy drinking. Can probably age for a few more years but I would drink it in the next 5 years. (1129 views)
Tasted by wconnolly on 6/8/2023 & rated 90 points: The first of the Del Dotto Corona Virus series. 86% Cabernet and 13% Merlot but tastes a bit lighter than that. Full of vibrant red fruit, oak, spice and ample tannins. With the tannins and spice, it was a wonderful accompaniment to a backyard barbecue. This is full bodied with a medium finish. (1128 views)
Tasted by Shatts2160 on 11/6/2022: Excellent wine 4.5 rating. Mild tannins. Goes down smoothly. Didn’t need to decant. Opened up nicely (1699 views)
Tasted by Jjarriel on 8/21/2022 & rated 89 points: A few more years (but not too many more) and this’ll probably be better. (1503 views)
Tasted by Bucky Vino on 2/16/2022: Enjoyed the day Kelly signed with Codility (2010 views)
Tasted by Pinkflash on 12/2/2021: Tannins at opening then after about 30 minutes began to soften — black fruit, Cassies, Little chocolate Drinkable now and Will watch it mature I have 2 more bottles. (2016 views)
Tasted by wconnolly on 11/21/2021 & rated 90 points: Although fairly light in color, this is a medium to full bodied offering. Lots of red fruit on the palate and plenty of tannins. I suspect this is a bit heavier on the merlot than the other Corona bottlings. Nicely balanced and a decent value. (1915 views)
Tasted by vang on 5/17/2021 & rated 91 points: Tannins are young and dominate, especially on the finish. Medium+ body with good balance of depth of flavor and acidity. This is a good wine that will get better with more age in the bottle. Drank with a lamb chop dinner and a good friend to celebrate the end of Coronavirus restrictions!! (2387 views)
Tasted by Elpaninaro on 3/5/2021: deep red/purple color, earth and polished blueberries on the nose, chocolate notes, on the palate ripe cherry and blueberry fruit, velvety earth tones, good full finish, nice balance as well, a lot of fun to drink now but there are indications this will offer even more in time.

***+, now to 2030+ (2491 views)
Tasted by ChrisH3040@aol.com on 1/30/2021: Gave to Rob (2222 views)
Tasted by Mjones22 on 12/30/2020: We drank it last night to start the end of the year celebration. I was surprised that it was so good this early. I will lay down the rest for a couple of years and check it again! (2074 views)
Tasted by Lbertolami on 12/20/2020: Gave to Ben Wolfe (2082 views)
Tasted by nas20 on 12/14/2020 & rated 92 points: Drinking surprisingly well this early, especially for a Del Dotto. 75ish minute decant. Deep garnet color. Taste of classic Del Dotto barrel spice with a significant amount of darker/stewed fruits after some initial brighter red fruits. Good complexity with a tartness/acid on a medium+ finish. Paired well with herb crusted prime rib and the au jus, though not the best with the horseradish cream sauce that accompanied. Drinking well now, excited for a few years from now. (1608 views)
Tasted by Steve loves Amber on 7/13/2020 & rated 93 points: Another great Del Dotto Red. Easily could be $100 plus..... (2733 views)
Tasted by jeisterh on 7/12/2020: Let it sit for 4-6 years. Needs time to open up (1953 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
