Medium (+) and developing nose with ripe green apples, ripe peach, ripe lemon, mango, white flowers, wet stone and petroleum. Medium taste of ripe green apples, ripe peach, mango, ripe lemon, honeysuckle and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Riesling GG that has matured well. Needed an hour of air to integrate. Drink now or over the next three years. Goes well with fish, shellfish, sushi and spicy. Think Bicking, Hermannsberg, Korrell, Hees, In den Zehn Morgen und many others. But only the top-3 - Emrich-Schönleber, Schafer-Frohlich und Dönnhoff make exceptional wines on every level. This 2019 GG is certainly a nice wine, but cannot compete with the first class players. It is **** versus *****, as Eichelmann rightly comments. It just misses some tension, minerality, etc. Not much, a bit. Happy to drink it, but not a great achievement, (576 views) | | Tasted by Arve Jøndahl on 12/25/2023: 2 fl til pinnekjøttet (483 views) | | Tasted by Arve Jøndahl on 12/22/2023: Julaften, pinnekjøtt (513 views) | | Tasted by SuperSomm on 9/16/2023: Pale lemon colour. Tremgte nok noe luft. Ingen favoritt for mannen i huset. (2506 views) | | Tasted by Jegkaningentingomvin on 1/20/2022: God til vårrull, ikke helt min smak til sushi. (2199 views) | | Tasted by Helge H. on 12/27/2021 & rated 91 points: Nice, acid, long (2248 views) | | Tasted by Arska70 on 12/26/2021 & rated 90 points: Farge: Mellomting mellom strågul og grønngul. Aroma: Epler og sitrus. Litt lukket, lite aromatisk. Smak: Middels fylde. Leskende. 89 p QPR: 5
Dag 2: Aroma: Litt åpnere, litt mer frukt og litt krydder. Smak: Litt mer fylde men fortsatt leskende. litt mer frukt, litt mer sødme men litt mindre mineralsk. Litt mer krydder, urter og fat. Fortsatt litt ung. Lengre ettersmak. 90 p.
(2890 views) | | Tasted by steiro on 6/24/2021: Grønne epler, sitrus og litt mineralsmak. (1708 views) | | Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 6/8/2021: With some.wazy diesel petrol notes. Tight and dry and intense. Fin match. Lang og frisk ettersmak (1831 views) | | Tasted by Mr. Wine Delight on 5/4/2021 & rated 90 points: Light Green to yellow, fruity, addictive, hint of apple and flower. Delicious wine! (579 views) | | Tasted by Danneskjöld on 4/22/2021 & rated 92 points: Fin duft av epler og noe floralt. Litt mineralsk preg. God konsentrasjon med mineralsk frukt. God lengde. (1386 views) | | Tasted by Anders Danielsen Lie on 4/19/2021 & rated 88 points: Meget elegant, spicy rasepreg med te og frukt. Deilig leskende og slank. Ikke noe GG-flesk. Moderne og ren. Litt ukomplisert? (1643 views) | | Tasted by Amorgine on 4/11/2021 & rated 91 points: Consumed with white asparagus from Germany. A pairing maid in heaven. The mineral taste from the asparagus matched the young fresh minerality from the I’m Pitterberg. (1197 views) | | Tasted by Darjeeling on 3/28/2021 & rated 91 points: Not too sweet. Still off dry (1157 views) | | Tasted by fedtmule on 2/20/2021: Needs powerful / fat foods to work with (1171 views) | | Tasted by Jokofon on 1/22/2021 & rated 90 points: Colour: medium straw Nose: fairly closed. But medium complex aromas of green apples, minerality, flowers and a hint of honey Mouth: dry, high racy acid, elegant texture, med alcohol and body, m/h fruit concentration and a long length with mandarine Conclusion: quite a forceful Riesling that shows a nice minerality from the terroir (1244 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

#2014 Vintage Notes: 2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise 2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator "My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)NaheAn der Nahe erwarten den Besucher sanftes Grün, romantische Flusstäler und dramatische Felsformationen. Interactive map on weinlagen.info |
