Complex flavors, multidimensional, intriguing to taste and contemplate. I was impressed with the first sip. (718 views) | | Tasted by Peter Kleban on 1/20/2023: ***
Decanted for one hour. Even more intriguing than the previous bottle (see TN). After a day under N2, it was really singing. Some real backbone here, but nothing over the top. Just a joy on the palate, wraps itself around your tongue and just pulls you in. Bravo! (731 views) | | Tasted by bendb on 12/3/2022 & rated 98 points: The first act of a lovely birthday dinner. Electric melon, stone fruits, hints of creme brulee and burnt marshmallow. This wine is *lit* and I can't effuse enough about it! Maybe a cork flaw, but this was very off. (921 views) | | Tasted by decaturwinedude on 1/1/2022 & rated 92 points: all the notes below capture what a unique delight this wine is. A kaleidoscopic array of tastes and fragrance. wild stuff. (1127 views) | | Tasted by Biskuit on 12/31/2021 & rated 92 points: Dee-lite-full. (605 views) | | Tasted by rc@ughey on 12/9/2021 & rated 91 points: Lightweight but complex and wonderful with food. Huge array of fruit flavors and some real dry extract. (990 views) | | Tasted by Decanting Queen on 12/5/2021 & rated 92 points: So unique and incredibly enjoyable. I never thought I would describe a wine called ‘Chendawg’ as elegant and feminine…but the nose was so lacy (I think I just read that in another review), delicate florals but at the same time so complex. Light on the palate but so many flavors from lemon and green apple to fennel to Almond. This is indescribable. Maybe should have a higher score, this is tricky to rate. C: yellow/orange Opened for Thanksgiving. Decanted 1 hr the night before. P: Nice! Medium/light weight, with just the right level of edginess. Long and intriguing, somehow at once delicate and lacy but robust. Worked well with Thanksgiving dinner. (643 views) | | Tasted by Jcangiano on 11/6/2021 & rated 93 points: About an hour and a half decant and continued over the course of the next two hours. This wine gets better and better the more airtime. Started with Hardy’s traditional chenin toasted marshmallow, vanilla, and lemon. From there this thing takes off and continues stay long throughout the night. Great young, but this will hit its stride in 3-4 years. 93-94+ (637 views) | | Tasted by TheSauerKraut on 10/28/2021: Yeah! (726 views) | | Tasted by bendb on 10/23/2021 & rated 96 points: This was delicious! Pop-and-poured, then followed the glass throughout a two-hour dinner. The nose developed in marvelous ways, gaining notes of fruit, vanilla, and even some banana. On the palate, gentle fruits, well-integrated alcohol, stone, a curious "hollow" sensation, and a vein of acidity tying it all together.
This wine was an absolute hit around the table, and true to the tasting notes, that little bit in the glass after the food was magic. My favorite of the 2019 release so far. (742 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson CaliforniaNapa Valley.http://www.stagecoachvineyard.com/vineyards/our_vineyards.php Santa Ynez.http://www.everyvine.com/org/Camp_Four/vineyard/Camp_Four/ |
