| Community Tasting Notes (average 84.7 pts. and median of 86 pts. in 7 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by BeneathTheChandelier on 3/14/2013 & rated 81 points: Decent quaffing wine, perfect for hanging out with a movie and a bowl of popcorn. It was a little hot when we first opened it, but that quickly disappeared with some air. It has medium acidity, and a creamy, round mouthfeel. Nice weight on the palate. Pineapple, honey, slightly oaky, melon at the finish. Not a complicated wine, not much of a finish. (2146 views) | | Tasted by trifecta on 10/2/2012: On PnP the nose has a bit of heat initially but quickly diminished. Honey and a hint of toasted oak on the nose.On the palate, picking up a bit of oak on the front with melon. No real minerality or depth yet. Medium acidity with a short/medium length finish with a hint of spice. Mouthfeel is good with a decent weight on the mid palate. After 30 minutes still picking up honey and oak on the nose. Starting to detect a bit of green apple on the palate. Finish is getting longer, medium to medium plus, and is getting a bit creamier. This wine held up well over 2 hours so there is still plenty of life remaining in this one. Overall, not a complex chardonnay, but a nice easy drinker with moderate acidity that will stand up to food well. I found the roundness of the wine with the medium weight to be nice on its own as a sipper. (2598 views) | | Tasted by yankee22 on 4/26/2011 & rated 81 points: Smelled like an old sponge. Taste was not as bad, but not good. Sour on the initial, o.k. midway through, and blah finish. (3491 views) |
| Hangtime Cellars Producer websiteChardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
