Orchard fruit, yellow apple, brioche, honey, sweet lime, and just a hint of hazelnut. This bottle came across a bit advanced, but it worked well nonetheless. Thanks for sharing, Z. As others have pointed out, this is in a great spot right now. A very fine, delicate mousse, bright acidity and minerality. Light fruits, pear comes to mind, almond, honey. Not getting the lemon zest others mention, which is good for me, as a prefer less lemon in my bubbles. (2346 views) | | Tasted by Decanting Queen on 4/2/2024 & rated 95 points: Drinking perfectly if a bit younger than expected for its years. Amazing nose of florals, pears and lemons, brightly acidic but also intensely fruity on the palate with a long finish. This was one of the favorite wines of my daughter’s 21st bday celebration. (2804 views) | | Tasted by GEL Wines on 3/31/2024 & rated 93 points: Excellent, as last bottle. Decanted a bit to A-B test vs glass--decanted more complex but loses a bit too much fizz: best to serve a decent serving in larger glass to maximize favor evolution. Had as aperitif with comte. (2288 views) | | Tasted by devraj on 3/13/2024 & rated 96 points: Light yellow in color with small beads. Fabulous nose of yellow florals, Meyer lemons, ripe orchard fruits, dried honey. Very rich and opulent on the palate showing of ripe summer orchard stone fruits, pears, tangerine oil, decent acidity and a super long and fruity finish. This is drinking incredibly fresh, and although quite ripe and flashy, one can't deny the vinousity, density of the fruit on the palate. (2557 views) | | Tasted by f95masv on 3/7/2024 & rated 92 points: Fresh minerality, citrus, almonds, brioche and hints of crushed hazelnuts. Absolutely lovely, still young but with emerging maturity. Popped to celebrate the entrance of Sweden into NATO on this day! (2224 views) | | Tasted by fclarity on 2/25/2024 & rated 95 points: Powerful, effervescent, and long. This is excellent Champagne that is just about at it peak. (2671 views) | | Tasted by Fredensborg wine cellar on 2/24/2024: Michael G Kirkegaard- Dennis Hindsberg - Uffe Tomasson - Danica Sucur
kælderen torsdag 22. februar 2024 (2392 views) | | Tasted by shifter on 2/16/2024 & rated 94 points: Jon's 50th Birthday Dinner: PnP. Very nice color and bubbles. Right in the zone and drinking beautifully with a nice maturity, but still fresh. (2964 views) | | Tasted by wihong on 2/10/2024 & rated 95 points: Yellow gold. Aroma of intense citrus, coconut, butterscotch and blood orange. Caramel and creamy palate entry followed by grapefruit and sweet muscat grape. Long finish of sweet lemon drops and caramel. Juicy, rounded, complex and full-bodied Champagne with lots of life ahead, very enjoyable bottle! (2687 views) | | Tasted by the player on 2/10/2024 & rated 94 points: Simply delicious. Popped open and let breathe 45 minutes then drank over 45. Golden yellow color, very refined bubbles. Nose of spice cake, golden apple, brioche, lemon peel and some perfumed rock. Powerful entry on the palate, rich and unctuous, great lift, finishes long, fat and buttery. In a great drinking window. (2499 views) | | Tasted by Elvis1969 on 2/5/2024 & rated 95 points: En fantastisk champagne som kommit in i en perfekt drickfas nu. (2073 views) | | Tasted by jfpwine on 1/24/2024 & rated 94 points: Yellow gold color. Lemon peel, brioche, toast and yellow apple. Full and creamy body, extremely long finish. Tight initially but opens up with a bit of time in the glass. This is showing beautifully. There is something about Dom Perignon that makes it quite distinctive and unique. Excellent! (2721 views) | | Tasted by the player on 1/20/2024 & rated 94 points: Wow what a delicious champagne one of the finest out there. Golden yellow color, tiny fine bubbles. Nose of creamy brioche, golden yellow fruits. Fresh yet unctuous on the palate, finishes fat yet with great lift with notes of flowers. Drinking extremely well. (2665 views) | | Tasted by Eric on 1/16/2024: M&PD Tasting: Italy (Seattle, WA, USA): Mmm, great way to start a tasting. Opens up fabulously complex, maybe a teeny bit oxidative for Dom but so expressive. The palate is fresh, creamy and mineral. Very Dom. (2739 views) | | Tasted by Pascal on 1/14/2024 & rated 91 points: D'une jeunesse surprenante, pas de rancio, fine bulles, facile à boire, tout en délicatesse. Ce champagne peut encore se bonifier. (2790 views) | | Tasted by mflesh on 1/5/2024 & rated 97 points: Dang! What a great DP, and a great champage in general! Nose of white wildflowers, honey. Palate is yellow mature peaches, funeral flowers, a hint of ginger, honeysuckle, lemongrass, a HINT of "lemon herb foccacia" almost reductive style breadiness (which I don't usually get with purely oxidative style Champagnes). Just hitting on all cylinders. Probably one of the best bottles of bubbly I've had in a while, although the 08 Billecart on the table challenged this wine and gave more of a youthful presentation with the oysters on the half vs. this 02 Dom. Drink or hold 10 years. (2989 views) | | Tasted by CHarder on 1/1/2024 & rated 94 points: In a great spot now. Drink over next 5yrs to strike the perfect balance between freshness of fruit and mature notes of brioche. (2327 views) | | Tasted by DCHawkeye on 12/31/2023 & rated 95 points: First NYE Champagne, really lovely, brioche, fine bead. (2304 views) | | Tasted by dhwesley on 12/30/2023 & rated 92 points: Quite youthful right out of the bottle, but what struck me was the immediate openness of the nose - a fragrant plume filled the room as soon as the bottle opened. Fresh despite the age with lemon rind, apple, vanilla, brioche and moving on to a long finish with almond and sherry showing the age. Over time it mellowed and improved. This is drinking excellently now but there's no need to rush to open any bottles you have in the cellar. (2241 views) | | Tasted by aquacongas on 12/26/2023 & rated 94 points: not blind Very good champagne but again for a DP and 2002 it is a bit "weak". Still on the fresh side, less toasted toast and oyster shell as usually. We had later a Rodez 2002. For many "younger" than the DP. 94 (2802 views) | | Tasted by PSPatrick on 12/26/2023 & rated 93 points: Bought recently. Medium straw golden colour, light perlage. Yellow fruit, red apple, almond paste, nuts, brioche, and some smoke, with good acidity, creamy mousse, and impressive persistence. Opened up slowly. Still (too) young. I usually do not decant champagne, but this time it would have helped. I suggest to hold for another three years at least. (2247 views) | | Tasted by soyhead on 12/23/2023: creamy and lush , drinking well now. generous. (2298 views) | | Tasted by Burgundy Al on 12/21/2023 & rated 94 points: Holiday Champagne Gala (Wilmette Harbor Club): Walkaround gala tasting. Long and seamless with a Chardonnay emphasis tonight, great length and precision. (1879 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France. Sub-Region:
Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.ChampagneThe vineyards of Champagne on weinlagen-info |
