(520 views) | | Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 3/15/2015 & rated 88 points: From 375 ml - light medium yellow color; apricot jam, dried apricot, baked pear nose; rich, almond, apricot jam, dried apricot, baked pear palate; medium-plus finish (14.9% alcohol) 88+ points (363 views) | | Tasted by Jscalia on 12/24/2013 & rated 89 points: Very nice. Probably atypical in style of most viognier/white rhones but technically excellent. Unctuous. Rich. Floral notes dominated by toasted honeysuckle. (Served with blackened Mahi-Mahi.) (1355 views) | | Tasted by ajfret01 on 7/13/2012 & rated 84 points: Smells of kerosene, but surprisingly nice on the palette. Got better with time. (1812 views) | | Tasted by rcurlee on 6/24/2012 & rated 84 points: I agree with the other reviews. This Viognier is too sweet for a regular bottling. I missed the minerality I expect in a high quality Viognier at this price. I prefer Alban or anything from Condrieu over this. (1773 views) | | Tasted by missionpk on 1/10/2012 & rated 85 points: (revised) Not sure I've ever really tasted a wine like this. The nose and taste feel like that of a spirit with 40% alc or so. Along with the apple notes in the Viognier, it is like a sweet/weak 15% alc Calvados or Apple Brandy. (I don't mean this as "the taste contains hints of Calvados". I mean it really really tastes like Calvados.). It's not an unpleasant taste, though it is hard to think of anything to pair it with. Revising my score up to 85, as it is quite interesting and I don't think I'll mind drinking the remaining bottles. I would recommend, though, to not expect this to be a normal Viognier. It is a very unique wine. As long as you view it on those terms, it can provide some enjoyment. (1954 views) | | Tasted by fredb on 10/5/2011: Medium straw color. Aromas of baby powder and flowers. Palate has floral and grapefruit pith notes without much richness. Some vanilla influence is lurking in there and the finish contains an artificial element that leaves an impression that you've drunk perfume or a kitchen surface cleaner. Easily the worst wine from Ridge I've ever consumed. Part of this is the fact that I'm not a big fan of Viognier. Disappointing, to say the least. Hold for more interesting development? (1077 views) | | Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 12/15/2010 & rated 87 points: Dan's Birthday: Condrieu and Cake (Chez Sandy, San Jose, California): From 375 ml - light yellow color; VA, apple, applesauce nose; ripe apple, ripe pear, honeysuckle, applesauce palate, a little hot, with noticeable residual sugar; medium finish (1348 views) |

This is nonsense.USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountyDry Creek Valley Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley | Dry Creek Valley Association | Appellation America | San Francisco Chronicle Article |
