Tasted by jeagle on 9/23/2015: Decanted for ten hours before consuming. The CT ratings of this wine vary considerably. A year ago I praised it, but this time it was not worth finishing the first glass. I could not identify a specific flaw, but I have to assume that it was as a number of bottles seem to be..  Tasted by rharl on 3/30/2015 & rated 91 points: Simple but tasty, smoothed out over the course of the first hour in the glass. Medium weight as hoped for pairing w grilled salmon. (1493 views)
Tasted by Minnesota on 11/26/2014 & rated 87 points: Less than I'd expected, perhaps better had we decanted. (1494 views)
Tasted by Minnesota on 10/21/2014 & rated 90 points: Should have decanted for at least four hours prior to tasting. Agree with the medicinal notes though less pronounced as the wine opened up. (1502 views)
Tasted by Griffeyfan04 on 10/2/2014 & rated 86 points: Huge Tensely fan and wanted to rate this higher but just wasn't there for me. Some fruit and lots of spice and a bit of medicine alcohol that was too strong for me. Drank over several days and never got better. Had the 2012 grenache recently and loved it!! So maybe it was just off or shut down... (1589 views)
Tasted by jeagle on 9/4/2014 & rated 93 points: Decanted 6 hours prior to consuming. Ripe and round with soft plum and raspberry, slightly dusty, completely in balance. (670 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
