Tasted by clutj on 11/3/2021 & rated 92 points: Dark, deep, not complex, throwing a lot of sediment (1120 views)
Tasted by clutj on 1/10/2021 & rated 93 points: Holding up well. (1291 views)
Tasted by easttide on 10/5/2019 & rated 93 points: Amazing. Still has lots of life left. (1857 views)
Tasted by quaffnov on 6/29/2019 & rated 92 points: I had this bottle sitting in the cellar for five years and I can safely say it has aged well since the the last time I drank it, with plenty of fruit and structure still in play. I doubt you can find this for sale any longer, which is a shame, a quality bottle that in hindsight I should have bought a case of and enjoyed more often. (1894 views)
 Tasted by jam71 on 5/15/2019 & rated 52 points: Fantastic (1704 views)
Tasted by EvanJB on 6/30/2018: Still a nice wine, but past its peak. Not much fruit left. Compared to 2009 Monitor Ledge , both decanted and consumed over long dinner. (2376 views)
Tasted by Tangy1570 on 4/28/2018 & rated 88 points: Still slightly tannic at first, but opens nicely. Lots of black currant with a Christmas spice finish. Tobacco nose. (2310 views)
Tasted by Tangy1570 on 3/24/2018 & rated 91 points: Perfect age, the tannins have mellowed and lots of plum comes through with a mildly herbal finish (1860 views)
Tasted by Vinyljunkee on 9/14/2017 & rated 93 points: Amazing once decanted for one hour. Consumed at Porterhouse San Mateo with a key client. This wine is stunning. Rave reviews. (2318 views)
Tasted by iamandyc on 8/19/2017 & rated 91 points: Maturing nicely with good deep dark rich fruit. Really good QPR. Drank at a party so no detailed notes! (2366 views)
Tasted by Rgentile on 3/10/2017 & rated 90 points: PNP
Eye: Deep purple core to a light purple rim
Nose: Dark black fruits and plums, cassis, leather and hint of toast
Palate:Blackberry, graphite and earth with low acidity and a medium finish

Overall this was pretty good. I do think the acidity is fading but the tannins are still grippy but smooth. I think this is certainly in its prime spot and don't see any improvement coming. I think if stored properly, in a dark cool cellar it has time. If not, drink up, enjoy! (2095 views)
Tasted by Randito on 1/14/2017 & rated 89 points: After holding this cab for years, I was unimpressed. Unbalanced, blende black fruit, oak, and zero finesse. (2051 views)
Tasted by garypn on 6/28/2016 & rated 92 points: consistently good but getting to the end of life. 2+ left (2622 views)
Tasted by pgm on 6/19/2016 & rated 93 points: A Cabernet of classic style and proportion, featuring black currant prominently in the nose and in the mouth. Add to its classical core sweet leather and cigar box notes and some bright cherry notes. Tannins are still quite firm, so I'd guess that this will last at least another 10 years. An excellent value for an outstanding cab. (2294 views)
Tasted by garypn on 5/18/2016 & rated 92 points: These keep getting better with age. (2157 views)
Tasted by Ecoenophile on 5/12/2016 & rated 90 points: No detailed notes.... decanted for 2 hours then enjoyed over next 6. Well integrated flavors with a little tartness and residual tannins on the finish. Will save my next bottle for a couple more years to see how/if it softens a bit. (1793 views)
Tasted by iamandyc on 4/26/2016 & rated 90 points: Drank over two days -- definitely more balanced and integrated on 2nd day. Rich, dark fruit and mouth coating but not heavy. Seems at its peak. Good QPR. Longer finish and more fragrant nose would have made outstanding but very pleasant, enjoyable cab (1873 views)
Tasted by oenophilemoose on 7/6/2015 & rated 88 points: Second of two bottles with same impression. Purchased at winemaker's dinner featuring Schweiger wines. Decanted for over two hours and consumed over the next three. An unremarkable wine from a good vintage with a reticent nose, somewhat monolithic on the palate and a clipped finish. (2532 views)
Tasted by gryz on 5/16/2015 & rated 91 points: Drank well, but could have used a little decanting time. (2434 views)
Tasted by doctorj1 on 3/30/2015 & rated 91 points: Honestly a bit disappointed having expected more. Decanted for two hours. Initial unpleasant funk on the nose that never completly dissapated. (2708 views)
Tasted by pickhardt on 9/7/2014 & rated 91 points: The last few sips were really, really, nice. The rest wasn't bad either. (3988 views)
Tasted by quaffnov on 5/21/2014 & rated 92 points: 1 hour decant, dark purple on the pour, nice bouquet of dark fruit, currant and chocolate. The palate continues the chocolate and dark fruit, medium tannins with a smooth mouthfeel and a pleasant finish. Good complexity all around, excellent buy at $47. Added note: after another 2 hours of air time this became further refined with the fruit stepping out more. (3955 views)
Tasted by Wrkolbeck on 5/9/2014 & rated 92 points: Rich black fruit flavors, balanced tannins & medium finish. Drinking exceptionally well now. (3239 views)
Tasted by easttide on 12/26/2013 & rated 93 points: WOTN among my cab friends. Huge wine, rustic wine that reminded me of a Rafanelli, but much more polished. Very enjoyable. (3963 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
