Tasted by wynlvr on 5/19/2019: Neutral, just okay which translates to a disappointment. (308 views)
Tasted by Kirk Grant on 4/10/2011 & rated 84 points: This just never really came around to my expectations. While there is certainly no flaws in the wine...it's not standing out as I had hoped it would. High acidity and tart slightly green flavors of melon and wild strawberry. Drink now. (2194 views)
Tasted by tebor on 10/13/2010: Subtle, Lisa

Watery, Chris (1780 views)
Tasted by Kirk Grant on 8/5/2010 & rated 87 points: Color: Salmon/Peach

Smell: Melon, strawberries, and a hint of green banana in the background.

Taste: Still quite acidic with flavors of cranberry, un-ripe nectarine (2118 views)
Tasted by RajivAyyangar on 8/5/2010 & rated 86 points: After-work wines with Kirk and Doug (Kirk's Place): Blind Rose:
light salmon in color
Nose: light melon, hint of carbonic maceration, it seemed - banana and candied watermelon flavors.
Palate: light-to-medium body, with ripping malic acid and a nice finish of light tartaric. Great fruit flavors on the midpalate. Nice! I guessed oregon, but not the varietal.

~$12.50 (4080 views)
Tasted by Kirk Grant on 1/18/2010 & rated 87 points: Fiddling around down in the cellar and I started to move some things around. While picking up one bottle I accidentally twisted the cap a little and heard the seal break. So I decided to re-taste this wine again...and was pleasantly surprised. Bright fruit flavors of strawberry, watermelon, and no stem-y greenness. It was really quite interesting...to see the same wine show so very differently. (2192 views)
Tasted by Kirk Grant on 1/16/2010 flawed bottle: I really hate to start this wine off on such a negative note...but this was a huge disappointment for me. A pale salmon color in the glass with lovely scents of floral notes and a hint of watermelon that was really very intriguing. In the mouth there was very good acidity followed by flavors of strawberries...and then it got green. The mid-palate of this wine just screamed of berries that had been picked too soon with green stem tones that brought the enjoyment of this wine to a screaming halt. Maybe time will heal this...or maybe I somehow got an off bottle. I'm not sure what happened with this wine...but I will be interested to see what others are experiencing with this... (1705 views)

Beaux Frères

Producer Website

Since our first vintage in 1991, the Beaux Frères philosophy remains the same; to produce a world-class Pinot Noir from small, well-balanced yields and ripe, healthy fruit that represents the essence of our vineyard. In pursuit of these goals, the Beaux Frères Vineyard is planted with tightly spaced vines, and yields are kept to some of the lowest in our industry. The grapes are harvested when physiologically (rather than analytically) ripe.

Our winemaking philosophy is one of minimal intervention with clean fermentations utilizing indigenous yeast. The wines are stored in French oak for 10 to 12 months adjusting the percentage of new oak to compliment the wine the vintage has given us. Beaux Frères is never racked until it is removed from barrel for bottling, which occurs without fining or filtration. These non-manipulative, uncompromising methods guarantee a wine that is the most natural and authentic vineyard expression possible. Previous vintages demonstrate that these methods also allow our Beaux Frères to develop significant perfume, weight, and texture in the bottle.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.
