Tasted by levinml on 9/1/2022: Guess at the end of the day it's a decent value for $50, but my taste for cab is just diminishing. Still seemed pretty harsh after 3 days under pump. May get better, but who knows. (1075 views)
Tasted by Eressenfeld on 1/1/2022: Brought ti Chows 12/31/21 (1431 views)
Tasted by Janstan on 5/22/2021 & rated 88 points: Holding up well but drink over next 2 or 3 years. (1714 views)
Tasted by Tom Myers on 11/23/2020 & rated 92 points: Give it at least an hour in the decanter...silky smooth! (1990 views)
Tasted by JCGuthrie on 10/31/2020: Ripe raspberry on the nose, with some earth. Medium tannin. Red and black fruit on the palate. Overall quite good, but not a standout. (1863 views)
Tasted by Yzhang1908 on 6/1/2020: Compare better with silver oak and Robert Mondavi, both 2010 vintage and double in price, Turnbull is a clear winner, smell riche back fruit, rich mid palate, long finish and balance, excellent! (1508 views)
Tasted by LordOfGlencoe on 5/9/2020 & rated 96 points: Eyes: ruby red

Nose: a punch in the face! Strong fruit, strong licorice. Very sweet at the same time. Pepsi.

Mouth: Licorice, Sweets. Espresso and plum. Hints of minerality. Herbs and dried tobacco in the finish.

Same night, much later: amazing nose. Still fruit forward, but amazing dried herbs. Super well balanced mouth with a million tannins, nice herbs and salty finish (935 views)
Tasted by VINO-NOLA on 11/30/2019 & rated 88 points: too much oak for my taste.
previous bottles were better
glad its the last one (1575 views)
Tasted by r4Cali on 10/27/2019 & rated 92 points: Still excellent, but I would recommend drinking up now. Don't think it will get better with age, just maybe different. Appears to have peaked. (1368 views)
Tasted by kend707 on 5/18/2018 & rated 90 points: A hint of eucalyptus keeps this wine from a higher score. (2772 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 11/28/2017 & rated 91 points: Coffee, black cherry, cherry cough syrup, coats your mouth, fairly ripe, touch creamy like a CdP, Blue and blackberry fuits, light floral, licorice. Balanced Alcohol Quite good at this level! Blind at Brian's. (3243 views)
Tasted by sterin on 11/27/2017: Way too soon. Wait!! (3081 views)
Tasted by moega on 6/6/2017 & rated 90 points: Better night 1, not as good night 2 and beyond. Medium to dark purple color, taste consistent with other Napa cabs from this region. Medium richness, not much tannin, smooth and medium finish. (3494 views)
Tasted by levinml on 5/30/2017 & rated 89 points: Better read my own notes before I drink again. Consistent with what I wrote a year ago; tannic, not allowing much fruit through, didn't get any better second night. Wait a few years, but I'm not excited. (3388 views)
Tasted by Jimmyjules on 4/4/2017 & rated 92 points: Much like other notes, this starts with grippy tannin, followed by some nice black fruits and decent length. This can go, and will likely improve or at least smooth out, for years. (968 views)
Tasted by ChickenNoodle on 1/30/2017: Same notes as last time but possibly even a touch better this bottle. (3158 views)
Tasted by tc from santee on 10/7/2016 & rated 92 points: As I PnP this 2010 full throttle Cab. it was clear to me that this year should still be a HOLD not drink yet,; much like the 05 right bank Bordeaux's are. With big Tannin structure and all the dark fruit and dark Chocolate to spend 10 more years in the cellar. My recommendation would be hold your bottles until 2020. (3328 views)
Tasted by Troon on 8/26/2016 & rated 91 points: Ripe black and red fruits on the nose. More of the same on the palate. Still a bit of tannins in the finish. I think the wine has yet to peak. I will hold the next bottle for another 1-2 years. (3358 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 7/7/2016: 91+/- No notes. Nice CA Cabernet. (2901 views)
Tasted by ChickenNoodle on 5/16/2016 & rated 91 points: Very aromatic nose with deep black fruits. Taste matches the nose with dark fruits along with a very well balanced profile. Subtle nuances showing after about an hour. Very nice. (3384 views)
Tasted by levinml on 5/2/2016 & rated 89 points: May not be fair comparison as I drank this over a couple nights in hotel wine glasses rather than the usual Reidels, but this didn't do a lot for me. Pretty tannic, never allowing any fruit to shine through. May get better with a couple years. (2871 views)
Tasted by DRK III on 4/28/2016 & rated 90 points: Dark, inky, and rich in the nose and palate. Smells like a raspberry danish for the first hour. Intoxicating, fruity, and high octane. Possesses structure, but the thick layer of fruit coating the mouth throws it off just a bit. Intensely oaky/vanilla milkshake. Tannins sweet and supple. Good, but not great. (2359 views)
Tasted by tc from santee on 1/9/2016 & rated 92 points: There is no downside to this Turnbull Cab. Except it is still young. Opened and poured. Nice dark chocolate and mint nose. The tannins are still a bit tight but not with an over grip. Dark fruit and chocolate burst from the glass, so nice on the pallet with a 30 second finish. (1128 views)
Tasted by pakabear on 12/27/2015 & rated 88 points: Still extremely oaky! Decanted in aerating decanter for a few hours, and still extremely oaky... very nice fruit and spice, and a lot of oak characteristics, coffee, licorice, cedar. Strong dark currant flavors persist from start to finish. This is not a bad wine but really not worth the money... (3028 views)
Tasted by Cliff Booth on 11/22/2015 & rated 88 points: PnP; yet another monolithic Napa Cab...from 'Oak'ville. Not really sensing this wine will develop complexity over time. (2720 views)

Introducing our new Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. Peter describes it as "Grace and beauty. Impeccable and delicious. Dramatic and just about perfect." There are incredible aromatics on this Cabernet. The tannins are silky, rich and smooth, detailing the amazing singularity of the terrior of Oakville.

Price: $60.00 Club price: $48.00

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
