Tasted by Tim Heaton on 8/14/2017: Classic ruby color, with the nose offering chalk, herbs, soil, minerals, red fruits; almond and cherry emerge after some brief swirling, quite pretty overall. Really good energy on the medium>medium+ body, nicely weighted, balanced. Juicy, and fresh today, this is very pleasant and ready to drink now, and for the next several years. The 12 months of older oak treatment is fully integrated. recommended

Tasted by anderegg on 4/4/2016 & rated 88 points: PnP. Deep purple in the glass. Some volatile aromas initially. Dark cherry, blackberry, wood and forest floor aromas. Cherry, cranberry, blackberry, bright acid on the palate followed by a rush of tannin with a bit of wet wood at the finish leaving a neutral finish of both acid and tannin. Needs some swirling to open up. Some herbal or underbrush aromas appearing after a few minutes. Sit down to dinner of steak and a mixed green salad with blue cheese and vinaigrette after about 10-15 minutes of wine being open. Wine is softening and much better with food. Fruit more present, and wine is more balanced after about 40 minutes. (511 views)

Dolcetto

Varietal character (Appellation America)

Dolcetto, a northern Italian varietal from the Piedmont region, is a lighter bodied red. This wine is fruity and means 'little sweet one' in Italian. Some will opt to put a slight chill on it. Perfect with Mediterrean cuisine such as grilled meats and vegetables. Enjoy as a summertime delight. from (Woodward Canyon website)
