Tasted by Duninow on 12/22/2021 & rated 95 points: A delightfully luscious., long drink alongside a superb French dinner.
Unlike many American wines, this is a superb accompaniment to fine food. I concur completely with Ben Christenson's comment from March 2020. I am looking forward to finishing it tomorrow. Stood up to a superb 1985 [year of my marriage] Chateau de Beaucastel. (596 views)
Tasted by gediminasbielskus on 12/30/2020 & rated 87 points: Ripe exotic fruit on the nose. Think papaya and over ripe pineapple. Lees stood up as pastel de nata. Very textured and you have to appreciate the richness to enjoy it. I think the chenin is showing the ageing characteristics the most. Good wine, but I would suggest drinking up now. (772 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 3/27/2020: This was sensational. Drank over the course of three days and just kept getting better and better. Wish I had more. Aromatically complex and texturally darn interesting. A great wine right now. Don't see it slowing down but if I had more I would certainly plow through them. (1288 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 3/24/2020: that has amazing complexity and is tasting great right now. (1273 views)
Tasted by BeadyJay on 10/18/2019 & rated 91 points: Still a pale hue. Hard to characterise the fruit element, pear seems closest but not quite right. Rich and full but fresh, a touch of oak. Quite big, quite long, plenty of acidity.
Very enjoyable. (1028 views)
Tasted by cannym on 8/23/2019 & rated 91 points: Straw. held up really well. Plenty of freshness and crispness. Complex fruits, melon, pear, apple with touch of apricot perhaps. Some light honey. Rich. Fairly long. very drinkable. (631 views)
Tasted by MuckSo on 2/3/2019 & rated 89 points: The 2013 Mullineux white blend with mainly Chenin Blanc is a powerful wine. The quince and apple fruit is complemented by almonds, nuts and sherry. At first it was a bit fat, but really nice on the second day. This is absolutely nice! (749 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 12/14/2018: That's way different than Gruner Veltliner! And lots of waxy power. Just don't switch between the two. (767 views)
Tasted by PSPatrick on 8/30/2018 & rated 90 points: The wine was pale straw-yellow in colour and had a nose of dried stone fruit, nuts, honeycomb, and spicy honey. On the palate, the wine showed stone fruit, a lemony component, honeydew melon, nuts, some vanilla and mild oak spice, with lively acidity and good length. A medium-bodied, balanced and harmonious white with perfectly integrated oak. Fuller and richer on day two: It should pair well with a mild yellow curry. (812 views)
Tasted by cannym on 7/28/2018 & rated 90 points: Fine wine. Great balance and finesse. Apples, melons, grapefruit. Good acidity. Hints of honey and apricot. Good length. lovely wine. Still quite young. (925 views)
Tasted by drzweigelt on 4/12/2018 & rated 90 points: Orange peel and a little sulphur on the nose. Apricot and lemony fruit, rocky, high acidity, honeyed aftertaste. Good. (1065 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/7/2018: Rocking delicious. (797 views)
Tasted by kenthargis on 8/20/2017 & rated 86 points: Interesting flavors. Wouldn't necessarily get again though. The clairette blanche and viognier added some delicate floral notes. (913 views)
Tasted by CamWheeler on 6/20/2017 & rated 88 points: Carrot and light herbs, musky, orange peel and a wispy earthy note. Palate has a touch of sweetness, has a little roundness to the fruit as well, acid kicks up a bit toward the finish and helps give it a fresh lift. Some texture keeps it decently interesting as well. Feels like it is drinking well already. (1005 views)
Tasted by Elycohn on 6/5/2017 & rated 91 points: Pale straw. Rich aromas of pear, starfruit, and spice. Slightly textured and round in the mouth with a beautiful lingering acidity that concludes with flavors of ginger and lemon peel. (958 views)
Tasted by Rupert on 5/23/2017 & rated 90 points: At The Greenhouse: enticing mix of the floral and the stony, a touch of sweetness, rich. (883 views)
Tasted by PaulHig on 3/28/2017 & rated 91 points: Still drinking lovely. Great purity to the fruit, slightly candied lemons with a touch of peach.
The weight of this wine lends it so well to chicken or pork. (1192 views)
Tasted by Robert D on 2/15/2017: Vibrant with acidity behind a rich nose. Apples, citrus and a touch of honey. Long finish. Good but not profound. (767 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 9/12/2016 & rated 86 points: Weekly tasting group #228; A mixed set fully blind tasted. (@ DJ): Flowers, white fruits and fennel in the bouquet. On the palate white fruits, melon, stone fruits, minerals, medium bodied, citrus and a touch of sweetness. Smooth and a bit fat. 86+? (771 views)
Tasted by mmh on 8/31/2016: I didn't take any notes and am writing this a few days later from memory, but this is a really nice chenin. Really balanced, good acidity, quite fruity but also with some stony minerals. Easy drinking. (1010 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/6/2016: Well that is darn tasty stuff. (1049 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/1/2016: Sublime. (1035 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 3/22/2016: Big cinnamon and spice inflected chenin. (1027 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 3/3/2016: This is a blend of 80% Chenin, balance 13% Clariette Blanch and Viognier. Wood fermented in old french oak. There is one new 2000 L foudre. So technically its got some new wood.

The blend: clariette ripens early and adds a nuttiness. The viognier ripens very late but is very highly alcoholic but is peachy. The viognier never gets to be more than 7% because it will take over.

That is layered: nutty, peach, with minerality on the nose. A complex interaction. Palate is again big, but almost has some tannin on it. That thing is structured and powerful. And finishes on that nutty sensation.

That is a darn serious wine. (1079 views)
Tasted by eoinhharkins on 12/26/2015: Quite rich and round nose with lime leaf, Apple, lemon peel some oak, palate is also rich with lots of lemon, touch of herb, slight austerity on the finish probably could do with a year or so to integrate and soften (906 views)
