 Tasted by RonT on 3/19/2018 & rated 85 points: Vanilla, bramble but little fruit on the nose. A bit syrupy tasting with cherry notes tasting. Had this open for a couple of days and it went downhill with age getting a sweet note as it sat. (1455 views)

Nose of fruit & chocolatey dessert - I swear I could smell the chocolate-icing version of red velvet cake...... This is a grapey-tasting wine, lightly jammy with loads of blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, cherry, & vanilla flavors winding into a medium mocha finish. The acidity is well-balanced, the tannins are smooth, and some mild oak is present in the finish. I enjoyed all the fruit in this wine. Drink it in 2017. Looking forward to their other red, Black Forest. (1861 views)

Cupcake Vineyards Red Velvet

Red Velvet is a blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah; each variety lending structure, aroma, depth of flavor and a long creamy finish to this wine. The grapes were harvested from some of the finest vineyards of California’s viticultural areas; each picked for their ability to engender these grapes with distinct characteristics that will add to this blend. Each varietal was fermented separately and later blended and put through a unique oak regime that imparts a certain creaminess. -- Producer web site.
