Tasted by Poisey on 9/21/2013 & rated 89 points: In between traditional and modern style. Aging beautifully with lots of ripe sweet raisin like dark cherry fruit. Typical floral notes with shoe leather, coffee bean earth and spices on the nose and finish. Medium finish. At it's peak. (2521 views)
Tasted by Poisey on 5/3/2013 & rated 92 points: Still very fresh. Earthy with leather, dark cherry, and wood notes. Great balance and juicy. This has opened up nicely in the last few years, and drinking great at the moment. Great finish that lasts with a nice fresh acidic cut and round tannins. Lots of fruit left in this with hints of dark chocolate, coffee and spices. Drink over the next 3 years. Great. (2659 views)
Tasted by mikec42 on 3/13/2010 & rated 84 points: Ok but not impressive...much better values out there. (4594 views)
Tasted by brun98 on 2/18/2010: nice everyday chianti. classic color with slightly brownish hue typical of 6 year old wine. medium depth, good fruit and acidity. (4751 views)
Tasted by Grizwine on 7/23/2009 & rated 82 points: No character for a chianti (5206 views)
Tasted by Weston3220 on 7/11/2009 & rated 88 points: Great Dark Colour, Aromoa of Spiced Stewed Plums very attractive, Taste: 1st Attack was bubble gum, then after some air in the wine glass it now has Good Dark Cherry touch of spice and good acidity, very nice rich dark wine (3080 views)
Tasted by whits on 6/11/2009 & rated 84 points: nice color, a dark ruby, nose of sandlewood, leather, and dried cherry, shows a round body, seems shy on the mid-palate right now, but most of the intensity is on the tart cherry finish, a great pairing with Margherita pizza (2852 views)
Tasted by Nuit Taster on 5/9/2009 & rated 79 points: not that great (2495 views)
Tasted by dthompson on 2/21/2009 & rated 86 points: Tee wine was OK but has a slight bitter side to it. This was surprising. (2715 views)
Tasted by dssmith on 1/17/2009 & rated 90 points: A solid well made chianti Classico. Very pleasant. Good balance of fruit and tanin (2602 views)
Tasted by John Nezlek on 1/10/2009 & rated 88 points: Had this at a restaurant in DC, Posto -- very nice food if you are in the 'hood. I thought this was decent wine, not too big. Tannins not too stiff. We let it breathe a bit in the glass before we starting drinking, and I thin that helped. It did not taste "classically Italian" (to the extent such a taste exists), but it was enjoyable nevertheless. (2561 views)
Tasted by Clarkmeister on 12/13/2008 & rated 82 points: Closed nose. Shoe polish and mild dark fruit. Empty on the end (2557 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 8/21/2008: Tasty, good stuff. Now, in 1982 these two guys bought the property and also brought in Tachis. The big guns. Gippy, nice bright cherry. Of course, this has Merlot. Why not? Its around $19.99 and it is worth it. (2610 views)
Tasted by bacchanal on 8/5/2008: Reticent nose at first. Medium plus weight for a C.C. Smoke, cherries and a bit of wood, but nothing too obvious. Nice, with the concentration that a lot of 04's from Tuscany have shown. On day three the nose is wide and pleasant - echoing the flavors of cherry and smoke. I like this (but not as impressive as the Rancia). (2806 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
