Tasted by Rossodio on 10/1/2012 & rated 91 points: Beautiful. Classic Sancerre at a great price ($16) purchased a year and a half ago. Beautiful pale gold, with rocks, lime, crisp but balanced... amazing aromatics wafting from the glass. Wish I had bought a case. (4583 views)
Tasted by jtinto on 8/7/2012 & rated 91 points: Limes, rocks, flint, shells. Really good value. (5054 views)
Tasted by CCestaro on 5/23/2012 & rated 92 points: agree with ksnj...A really good bottle...How did I stash 6 of these at $13 four years ago.....A great SB (5082 views)
Tasted by ksde on 2/23/2012 & rated 92 points: Great SB. Seems a bit more alive than my last bottle. I let this one warm up gradually to room temperature and I liked it more as it got warmer. Not over ripe or too sweet but nice and balanced. (5325 views)
Tasted by Mig22 on 1/29/2012 & rated 91 points: Lovely pale gold color. The nose is typically Sancerre with delicate fruit of a barely ripe nature and a bit of a chalky version of shells and ocean breeze. Palate is bright fruit, muted acidity, and a really comfortable balance. I would drink it this year though as the color is a tiny bit darker than my previous bottle. (3707 views)
Tasted by Number51 on 12/5/2011 & rated 93 points: Ridiculous value. Awesome aromatics. (2563 views)
Tasted by Vinomane on 11/2/2011 & rated 92 points: Flawless and extraordinary for the price. An aromatic fusion of ripe white fruit and ancient oyster bed that no New World Sauvignon could hope to match at any price. (2872 views)
Tasted by Vinomane on 6/30/2011 & rated 91 points: Winemaker, vintage and terroir are invisible in this, the definition, quintessence, and purest possible exemplification of the sauvignon blanc varietal. Provides an utterly seamless, diirect transmission of grape to drinker, with nothing in the way: fully harmonious; complete rather than complex; a rare instance of perfect balance, perfect pitch. This must have achieved in 2009 by an optimal blending of Martin's chalk soil grapes with his clay/limestone, such that each quality exactly mutes and flatters each other. The complete and final answer to the question what Sauvignon blanc taste like. When someone asks, just pour this stuff. A model and an ideal -- and for $15 at that. (3404 views)
Tasted by bechi on 6/15/2011 & rated 89 points: Pale gold in the glass with a delicate nose of peach and melon. Notes of orchard fruits, oyster shell and wet rock. Very nice. (3420 views)

Tasted by mellison on 6/6/2011 & rated 88 points: Differnt wine but a definite step up from a a Droin Grand Cru Les Clos that I just panned. (3403 views)
Tasted by flyinburrito on 5/14/2011 & rated 92 points: Light pale yellow with a slight green tinge. Lovely pure nose of melon and lemongrass. Steely, mineral palate with some tropical notes and beautiful bright acidity. Wonderful. (3566 views)
Tasted by fCOT on 5/13/2011 & rated 87 points: good , crisp but not really impressed.too much lime flavors.toto much like a new world SB from new zealand (3552 views)
Tasted by winegr on 4/22/2011 & rated 87 points: 87-88. This was quite fruity and sweet. Toward a NZ profile, but has some minerality and nice mouthfeel that keep it in Loire. Not my favorite as most of the 09s aren't so far. (3555 views)
Tasted by prof b on 4/18/2011 & rated 87 points: acid, apple, citrus, tasty. (3805 views)
Tasted by Number51 on 4/3/2011 & rated 93 points: Dry, complex, subtle, and well-balanced. Amazing QPR. (2545 views)
Tasted by njm on 3/14/2011 & rated 90 points: clean fresh acidity, nice minerality & citrus. a little clining on the finish (4056 views)
| Tasted by mguglielmo on 2/1/2011 & rated 90 points: Crisp nose with hints of green apple, honeydew melon & butterscotch. Nicely tangy flavors out of the gate, with juicy grapefruit and more green apple coupled with a slight fizziness and a nice dry woody finish. Stone fruits emerged as it warmed, after roughly 30 minutes out of the wine fridge.
Since I'm newly-obsessed with the whites of the Loire Valley, this was right in my wheelhouse. Will certainly buy again. (4051 views) |
Tasted by NJ BIG CHRIS on 1/29/2011 & rated 93 points: Ripping acidity and a strong finish for white wine. love it. Price tag makes it a must try. (4130 views)
Tasted by VandyMD on 1/19/2011 & rated 93 points: Wow. This was really amazing...even more so given the 16 dollar price tag. I am a Sancerre nutt so I don't give praise lightly. Citrus and apple on the nose with anticipation of someting heavier to follow. Notes of grapefruit, pear, apple, slate, and hints of oak in perfect balance. The finish lingers greater than expected for a white. Bottom line is this is one of the best Sancerres I have ever had. Glad I bought a bunch. (4269 views)
Tasted by Vinacull on 1/15/2011 & rated 90 points: {ST} Color light yellow with some green hues, medium saturation, light body. From the ice bucket, this was colder than I would have liked, but still showed refreshing aromas of talcum powder and flint, white grapefruit and lemon zest. Enters the palate with flint, smoke, and herbs with lemon, white grapefruit and grass becoming more prominent in the mid and carrying through to an extended clean finish laden with minerals. Excellent concentration of fruit and nice complexity. Quite impressive and an excellent value at 15. Easy to see why WL keeps selling out. (4168 views)
