Tasted by CarpeDiem! on 7/24/2022 & rated 85 points: Overmatured. Disappointing that a Nobile cannot last longer than11 years. I very much hope that this is only bottle variation. (681 views)
Tasted by Ruubious on 10/23/2021: Opened at 5pm, plenty of life, dark cherry, leather.
Decanted in a large decanter for 30min before serving at 6:30, and drank over 3hr.
Wonderfully full, great structure and balance in tannin. dark fruit, herbs, earth.
Some sweet fruit on the palate s well. very nice.
showed much better than the 2011 avignonesi the week before. (1026 views)
Tasted by Ubriaco di Buffalo on 5/9/2020 & rated 92 points: Decant for at least an hour and it really opens up nicely! (1428 views)
Tasted by Fowlers on 4/14/2020: Beautiful wine - perfumed almost floral nose. Firm tannins. Earthy, red fruits, delicate but still with enough power in the body. Perfection with Italian salami. (1436 views)
Tasted by Ubriaco di Buffalo on 3/29/2020 & rated 85 points: Some websites said it was past its prime, but it's held up nicely! We bought this wine @ the vineyard 3 years ago. Just opened Mar 2020. Wasn't that appealing on first taste. But after decanting for about an hour, it opened up nicely with some vanilla, hazelnut, and pepper flavors, as well as some nice tannins I find typical of Sangiovese-based wine with some age. Look forward to drinking our remaining 3 bottles, and to making it back to the vineyard at some point. (1439 views)
Tasted by Pjzlotnik on 2/26/2020: presumed drunk before (1276 views)
Tasted by CarpeDiem! on 4/20/2019 & rated 88 points: Straightforward Montepulciano. No gimmicks, nice fresh cherry, pepper, balsamic and herbal notes which paired well with our osso buco. Could further improve over the next 2-3 years. (1535 views)
Tasted by thewiz on 7/24/2018 & rated 89 points: (Decanted for two hours before drinking.)
Deep red colour with a nice nose showing incipient maturity with morello cherries, fresh herbs and a hint of wood. Palate shows smooth tannins and still primary fruit and just starting to evolve more tertiary notes. This is very good and ready if you’re not looking for the tertiary notes that will come later.
Best 2016-2026. (1602 views)
Tasted by Kiwi5709 on 4/14/2018 & rated 89 points: Mango & dark chocolate well balanced probably close to it's best. (1931 views)
Tasted by Cladand on 9/16/2017 & rated 86 points: Probably drunk at the right time, acidity still present but not one of the main features; ripe cherries, balsamic scents and a start of orange juice.
Not reach, but very pleasant (2621 views)
Tasted by danckie on 3/12/2017 & rated 90 points: A Nice consistent wine. Dark fruit, some acidity and a little heat. Good QPR (3272 views)
Tasted by czender1 on 12/31/2016 & rated 92 points: concentrated with a wonderful bouquet and nice red fruit with good depth. Great QPR at 15 dollars. (3183 views)
Tasted by sunnylea57 on 12/7/2016 & rated 89 points: Spice and black fruit on the nose. A little alcohol heat. Plum and black fruit and a bit of candied sweetness on the palate, with slightly chalky tannins on the mid-palate. Medium weight. (3003 views)
Tasted by Kungskobran on 11/20/2016: Good (2820 views)
Tasted by rsime on 6/7/2016: Great wine but a little pricey - if you want to impress guests buy it! (2952 views)
Tasted by sunnylea57 on 10/11/2015 & rated 91 points: Sweet red berries, lovely purity and suppleness. Charming wine. (3348 views)
Tasted by thewiz on 9/5/2015 & rated 89 points: Dark red colour. Youthful nose showing white pepper, cherries and burnt rubber. Nice youthfully austerity on the palate showing white pepper, cherries and with a nice long finish. Magnum bottles so probably a bit slower in development. Very nice with fillet of beef and morel sauce. (2798 views)
Tasted by fanglangzhe on 8/20/2015 & rated 88 points: Dark fruits, balanced oak and tannins, slight note of espresso. Nice acidity. Good balance. Not sure price premium over their rosso is justified. 88-89. (3200 views)
Tasted by casaallora on 6/28/2015 & rated 90 points: Decant 1 hour.Nice supple nose of leather & light tar. Not over powering on the nose but good profile. Good legs. Nice soft leather color. Mouth feel was very comfortable w/tannins & oak not overbearing. Much softer in oak & tannins than Brunello as a comparison. Good tannic backbone with nice sangiovese profile. Needs food. A good representative of Vino Nobile profiled wine (3352 views)
Tasted by Conde on 5/18/2015 & rated 90 points: Dark, crimson red colour.

In the nose the wine is direct and open with plenty of ripe cherry, some oak and spicy herbs.

On the palate the wine is mediumbodied plus, with excellent acid giving depth and freshness to all the fruit, and with good structuring tannins. The finish is more than decent! Excellent, but I hope and think it will improve for several years yet. 89-90 p.

Second bottle 150826
Excellent with an entrecôte, redwinesauce, sallad, feta, garlic &creme fraiche and oven roasted potatoes. Decant, or let the wine breath for a couple of hours. (3024 views)
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 4/17/2015: founded in 1961 by Dino Carletti with 50 acres.
Sangiovese and Merlot from sandy soils, aged 18 months in barrels of varying size.
dark cherry fruit aromas, again, some kernel to the nose. solid, waxy fruit concentration on the palate. (2403 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 3/6/2015 & rated 88 points: This opaque ruby wine was kindly provided to our tasting group by T.R. Sampled in double-blind fashion, it offers nice aromas of raspberries, black cherries, anise and cocoa. Full-bodied and with tart acidity, it delivers similar flavors which are framed by medium-weight, angular tannins, generous oak and fairly well-integrated alcohol (14.5%). The flavors persist nicely in the middle and the finish is medium-length. This wine has some rough edges which should smooth out with more time in the cellar. It may ultimately merit a higher score. Drink 2017-2024. (2571 views)
Tasted by partylikeakennedy on 2/21/2015 & rated 91 points: THIS PLEASES ME. Nose of coffee beans, chocolate, leather, and woods. Tight tannins (it'll benefit from a few more years in the bottle) but lovely complexity behind the scenes, and a nice medium finish. (2325 views)
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 2/14/2015: more pronounced aromas. Dark red fruit and red fruit, just a touch of kernel. More flesh and texture to the palate, with a little kiss of spice. French oak boti are now used. Previously Slovenian oak. They are now working 100% organic in all of their vineyards. Since 2009 all indigineous yeasts. (1981 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 2/8/2015 & rated 88 points: A private dinner (Brasserie van Baerle, Amsterdam, NL): Very forward, ripe cherries, warm spices, good Sangiovese typicity, distinctly lactic, easy and silky but with pleasant tannic grip, light and refreshing, attractive but a far cry from the grandeur of a truly noble Vino Nobile. Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
