Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 90.6 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 5 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by kfinsrud on 5/22/2021 & rated 89 points: 2 hour decant. Needed more air in fact. Classic nose, good perfume. Paired with a chicken dish, excellent. Drank the last of the bottle a couple hours later and now the wine was more rounded and drinkable alone. (560 views)
Tasted by JHSP on 10/24/2020 & rated 91 points: Valavity, smooth integrated tanins, cheery - lacking some complexity and lenght - sweet spot now for a easy drinking lighter red (591 views)
Tasted by Torchy on 3/18/2019 & rated 90 points: Cederic Bouchard tasting with add-ons. (LystPå resturant Bodø): Great classic PN nose. Red juicy fruit and perfume. A bit tight structure, without the vibrant flow and feel. Grated in a way. (1311 views)
Tasted by ricard on 1/19/2019 & rated 92 points: Slightly artificial-looking bright cherry colour. Good firm and fine tannin, but overall too sweet for me. I'm missing the savoury/saline touch. Good acidity and very gentle oak however. Overall good! (1105 views)

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)
