This wine has held up well and is a balanced collection of savory, chocolate, earth and bramble. (4057 views) | | Tasted by EvanRose on 8/11/2015 & rated 89 points: rich, almost syrupy, but went well with roast pork loin. Dark fruit, plum, cassis, long finish, round mouth feel (4594 views) | | Tasted by EvanRose on 12/1/2013 & rated 89 points: soft, light short finish. good with italian meatloaf and some dark chocolate for dessert (6503 views) | | Tasted by GolferChris on 8/24/2013 & rated 89 points: Jammy and juicy fruit with solid structure and finish. (7016 views) | | Tasted by CP on 9/1/2012 & rated 90 points: Normally I would sit on this one for a year or two and drink it up. This one has been in the cellar for almost four years, and it is really nice. The nose on it is beautiful. The mouthfeel is terrific, and the finish is decent. Drink them if you have them, it won't get any better than this. (8235 views) | | Tasted by DTLT on 8/16/2012 & rated 89 points: Wow! Sat for 30 minutes and started gulping! The nose! The nose! Pepper, currants, berries. Mouth feel was excellant. It's been 30 minutes and I can still taste the finish. Loved it. Had it with barbecued pizza. red sauce, egg plant, cheese and basil. Great wine. (5335 views) | | Tasted by wadcorp on 7/23/2012 & rated 88 points: Notes consistent with earlier bottles, though fruit is not as big to me this time. More balanced. Black cherry, currant, pepper, spice box. Was worth giving this the extra time. Drink now. (4963 views) | | Tasted by sumshark on 7/5/2012 & rated 86 points: Not a lot going on (3471 views) | | Tasted by Ed B on 6/8/2012 & rated 91 points: Decanted 15 min. and started drinking. Deep ruby color, with eart-tones. Floral notes on opening but evolved as it opened. Raspberries and dark fruit, with earthy hints, with a very long finish. Held up well to spicy pasta, which brought out the earthy flavors. As finished after dinner, I lost interest. Nothing bad; nothing great. I'll drink my remaining bottles next time we serve spicy pasta. (3286 views) | | Tasted by shank on 6/1/2012 & rated 87 points: Not as much complexity as before, nevertheless, great bottle that is starting to lose its fruit. Drink up! (2522 views) | | Tasted by gmarcos on 4/21/2012 & rated 84 points: Fruit was a bit inconsistent and the profile a bit missing in the mid palate, but it was a classical zin with spiciness. Maybe a bit high at 19$ but a reasonable value. Not sure it would my first choice at that price point, but lacking others to compare to, it was a good wine. (2925 views) | | Tasted by Mattvino on 12/12/2011 & rated 84 points: Not a lot of complexity. Some spice but mostly mocha (3393 views) | | Tasted by Life At Your Leisure 🍷 on 7/10/2011 & rated 92 points: Ripe plum, boysenberry, blueberry, cinnamon, cardamom. Delicious ripe fruit that is just delectable, sumptuous and delightful. Great balance of acidity and fruit. Drink now until 2016. (1312 views) | | Tasted by wynnewood500 on 6/5/2011: Had this a few weeks ago but remember that I enjoyed it. Definitely a zin, but not a fruit bomb. Would buy again. (4201 views) | | Tasted by gmbdds on 5/23/2011 & rated 88 points: From a 375. Ripe currant and blackberry on the nose and palate. Dense and chewy but also starting to dull some. (4118 views) | | Tasted by shank on 4/11/2011 & rated 89 points: So close to a 90! Huge amounts of blackberry on the nose with a long, chewy, finish! (4337 views) | | Tasted by Mimesis on 12/7/2010 & rated 91 points: First night: Could be sold as blackberry wine. Very impressive pure berry flavors with a dry finish. Only complaint would be the lack of body. Second night: Blackberry fruit faded, replaced by a warmer, fuller wine. Equally rewarding, but different. Overall: The 2006 Richard Sauret captures the classic Rosenblum single-vineyard characteristics - immediate appeal, pure fruit, evolution in the glass - memorable, individual flavors. (4898 views) | | Tasted by Martin Redmond on 10/22/2010 & rated 88 points: Deep ruby colored. On the nose, black cherries, and spice with faint floral notes. On the palate, juicy cherry/blackberry cobbler with vanilla spice. Medium long finish. Very enjoyable, though not quite fruit bomb, it's close. http://enofylz.wordpress.com/ (5016 views) | | Tasted by Old Tasting Notes on 7/11/2010 & rated 89 points: Alcohol on the nose, cherry and blackberry taste, very forward on the palate, a long finish with a nice slightly inky finish. (5960 views) | | Tasted by PIntag on 7/3/2010 & rated 86 points: 4th of July Weekend Zin Fest (The Wine Country, Signal Hill, CA): Had again at a tasting. This is very smooth with pure fruit but lacks many things that really good zins have -- bramble, spice, pepper, acidity. It's really just a summer BBQ quaffer and, at $19, a bad value for this kind of wine. (5988 views) | | Tasted by AllRed on 5/30/2010 & rated 90 points: 32nd Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2000s (Rich & Dana's): Garnet color. Raspberry liqueur note dominates; subtle pepper and spice undertones. The palate follows the nose, finishing with peppercorn and floral qualities. Nice balance throughout. (6633 views) | | Tasted by PIntag on 5/22/2010 & rated 86 points: The Big Red Wines of Paso Robles (The Wine Country, Signal Hill, CA): Getting some vanilla and strawberry rhubarb pie on the nose. On the palate, very smooth and silky red fruit, no zin spice, and a bit of a hollow mid-palate. No tannins to speak of. (6375 views) | | Tasted by tdcd@comcast.net on 5/16/2010 & rated 88 points: Drank while watching the Flyers miraculous game 7 comeback v Bruins. Every wine was Chateau Lafite that evening (5780 views) | | Tasted by thejamer on 4/16/2010: Boring. (5763 views) | | Tasted by robrindone on 4/6/2010 & rated 90 points: Cedar and berries on the nose, blackberries currants and light spice notes. This was a very good wine. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers.
