Complex and a long finish. Good stuff. (947 views) | | Tasted by Sonoma Duck on 12/15/2018 & rated 91 points: A friend brought this to dinner. Medium yellow, took 30 minutes to show up. Nice elegant chardonnay fruit with a long finish. Excellent. I would enjoy now. (1181 views) | | Tasted by UpfromtheCellar on 3/8/2015 & rated 92 points: Crying here. My last bottle. See my Dec review. Nothing more to add except I wish I had more! (2697 views) | | Tasted by UpfromtheCellar on 12/24/2014 & rated 92 points: Fabulous bottle with minerality, acids, flavors all out front and present. Stone fruits, long finish, medium weight. Really drinking spot on right now. Reminded me of my favorite Mersault..... (2631 views) | | Tasted by smphelps on 4/17/2012 & rated 90 points: Not quite three years after the last note, this has entered the downhill side of life. Now a pretty gold color that looks its age. Still elegant, but not as fresh as before, with less lemon and more cream and caramel. Aging gracefully, but without the burst of acidity to keep things interesting over the entire bottle. A bottle to be shared among several. (3452 views) | | Tasted by ginfizz on 8/20/2010 & rated 90 points: Showed very well against a Meursault Genevrieres. Elegant citrus, nice weight, fruit in hiding a bit. Hold these longer. (3223 views) | | Tasted by tlinch on 5/23/2010 & rated 88 points: Opened for about an hour and drank over an hour...Nose of lemon, cream and some toast. Palate has some nice acid, slightly overly oaked, lemon again. The acid and oak are out of balance but provide for a bright and unctuous mouthfeel at the same time. The finish is decently long and full. Very nice wine but too young, will follow up in another few years as Ted Lemon has crafted these wines to develop and evolve over a long period. (3151 views) | | Tasted by ginfizz on 1/2/2010 & rated 92 points: Burgundian. Lovely citrus and vanilla tinged bread dough notes on the nose, with medium weight citrus flavors and wonderful acidity. Could use some more time, but tastes like a grand cru. (2195 views) | | Tasted by Johann Von Mastiff on 12/17/2009 & rated 93 points: The color is a pale hazy yellow. The nose is a mixed bag of apricot, hazelnuts and oatmeal. The nose is explosive with some noticable fine french oak, but the palate is what is most impressive. There is no heaviness on this wine. Its very pure and almost ethereal. Fantastic stuff (2285 views) | | Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 8/12/2009 & rated 91 points: California Syrah Tasting Dinner (Bistro 24, San Francisco, California): Light golden yellow color; lovely butter, pineapple and lime nose; tarty, tart citrus, mineral palate, nicely structured; medium-plus finish 91+ pts. (2nd place WOTF) (1757 views) | | Tasted by Mpoob on 5/24/2009 & rated 86 points: This bottle lost it's acid for some reason. All the other flavors and aromas are there, (marshmellow, lemon and herbs), it's just wasn't as sharp as before. Soft vintage maybe? (2234 views) | | Tasted by pgordon62 on 5/11/2009 & rated 92 points: Key lime pie, dried herb and earthy notes. Crisp and well delineated. Controlled but excellent intensity. Very nice now and should improve with another 1-2 years. (2056 views) | | Tasted by smphelps on 5/1/2009 & rated 92 points: An elegant style, with creamy lemon tart leading the way. Light honey on the finish. Full mouthfeel, but light, bright, breezy style. (1986 views) | | Tasted by tanglenet on 2/7/2009: 3rd Annual Freeman Caves Weekend; 2/6/2009-2/8/2009 (Santa Rosa and environs): Tasted at the winery. Quick notes: high, bright acidity with lots of lemon citrus. Very Good. (2716 views) | | Tasted by tonyvelebil on 12/28/2008 & rated 92 points: Lancelot-Pienne, Tarlant Brut Zero, Dirler, 89 Reiussec, 06 Littorai (San Francisco): This was consumed along side the Tarlant with the crab/shrimp pasta.Very nice Chardonnay that reminded me a little of the Aubert. White chocolate, honey, lychee, lemon verbena, and a hint of tea. It's full bodied but with good acidity, shows no heat and has good palate presence from front to back...loved it! It did seem to clamp down a little after being open for about 1 hour...although that could be the effect of the ultra crisp/dry bubbly.. (2555 views) | | Tasted by jeff nowak on 12/3/2008 & rated 92 points: this displayed a less rich midpalate at first (compared to heintz), but with air, it's seemless qualities and truly great depth of fruit came forward. smooth with mild oak. (2149 views) | | Tasted by zgray on 7/4/2008 & rated 92 points: Very Solid Burgundy Style (2359 views) | | Tasted by llink on 5/12/2008: From the Littorai mailer: Mays Canyon Russian River Chardonnay This is the most closed and backward of the chardonnays today. It displays a delightful hard candy note with aromas of peach, lychee, apricot, guava, Earl Grey and Bergamot teas and linalool. It possesses significant acidity and has a long very clean finish with mouthwatering acidity. (2245 views) |

| Littorai Producer WebsiteChardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountyRussian River Valley Russian River Valley Winegrowers Association | Wikipedia |
