Tasted by Eric on 5/28/2005 & rated 87 points: Copper River salmon with friends (Seattle, WA): Clean, mineral, grapefruit. This seems to have lost a step and some critical vibrancy over the past year, but there is a lot of like in this sleek, mineral-laden beauty. (4765 views)
Tasted by Eric on 9/16/2004 & rated 88 points: Rosh Hashanah dinner (Seattle, WA, USA): Another exceptionally nice bottle, very quenching with ample slate and grapefruit. The palate is dry and cutting with gorgeous minerality and tart, slightly smoky notes of citrus fruit. This is a terrific $20 bottle of wine. (4896 views)
Tasted by Eric on 5/29/2004 & rated 89 points: Dinner with the Britton's (Seattle, WA, USA): This was a great aperitif and accompaniment to a grilled salad in balsamic vinaigrette. Razor sharp, cutting, with remarkable focus and minerality. Grapefruit dances on the palate. This is as crisp and clean as I could ever imagine for a wine. Delicious and pure, such a bargain at $17.  Tasted by Eric on 4/11/2004 & rated 88 points: Today was scorching in Seattle, as it cracked 80 degrees. Is this still April? Tonight I wanted to reach for something refreshing instead of the big, alcoholic reds I have been knocking back with the in-laws. Sancerre looked to fit the bill, and this one is off to a promising start. The moment I popped the cork, without even putting my nose near the bottle, I could smell the grassiness wafting forth. Once I actually poured the wine in a glass, this grass element really popped. Yep, we're talking Sauvignon Blanc, just what I ordered! In addition, this showed an amazingly mineral driven nose which reminds me a great deal of the smell of a hot sidewalk after a summer thunderstorm with that nostril flaring hint of ozone. Despite the hot imagery, this wine could not be more refreshing with cutting acidity and razor focus yet also layers of grapefruit and a quenching, mouthwatering finish. With grilled tuna and Nicoise salad this wine stood up very well to the Dijon vinaigrette. (3901 views)
Tasted by Eric on 2/21/2004 & rated 88 points: Tasted at McCarthy & Schiering. Wow, on this nose this has tons of slatey mineral with some smoke in the background. On the palate this is an explosion of lemongrass with a long, sweet and sour finish. Beautiful wine for $17! (3816 views)
