Tasted by kingkanu on 1/15/2023: Getting there now. Very easy to drink (957 views)
Tasted by h2o on 3/29/2022 & rated 90 points: with bolognese (1510 views)
Tasted by JWG on 3/15/2022 & rated 90 points: Another classic Produttori effort. It may just be their lowly nebbiolo, but it has life, pizazz that shows the grape as a winning way to drink. Not big, obviously, but a great QPR and easy to drink while giving one some definition and detail to the drinking experience. (1437 views)
Tasted by JWG on 1/24/2022 & rated 91 points: A great QPR... Nose has minerality, earth, light tar.
Palate is bright nebbiolo fruit, a spiciness in the background, a dark backbone somehow, and finishes with ight tannins. Yum and semi-serious. (1650 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 7/19/2021 & rated 92 points: Earthy dark fruit on the nose, cherries and a fine, floral aspect. Shows power and concentration on the palate, with savory tones and bright spices. Very good balance, the oak and fruit components in perfect harmony. The finish shows tremendous grip which settles down with a long decant. Lovely now but this will flourish with time in the cellar. (1761 views)
Tasted by NateR on 2/19/2021 & rated 89 points: Dark, brooding aroma with flavors of oak and a hint of licorice and black cherry. Not too heavy on the palate though, with moderate tannins and acidity. Overall a good nebbiolo - with food or without. (2491 views)
Tasted by fhayek on 11/9/2020 & rated 86 points: Not super-happy with this.
On the plus, a very clean and balanced affair.
On the neg, it lacks everything to be exciting or fun: depth, structure, complexity, aftertaste.

This is exactly what you get at winery tastings as the first wine: it must be drinkable and without fault, but also so boring that all the following wines can shine in comparison.

So - decent and absolutely drinkable but underwhelming.

At best I can imagine it to accompany some food where the food is in the focus and the wine's job is to not disturb in any way.

Will not buy again. (2598 views)
Tasted by MRichman on 7/8/2020: Good. Drinking really well. Full flavored dark fruit, light bodied. Tar, smoke. A bit of acid and fine tannins. A great buy for the price. I always like to have one of these around the house. (3053 views)
Tasted by baroloboy55-2.0 on 5/24/2020 & rated 88 points: Very well made, rich, doesn't seem like these are young grapes. Reminds me that I need to drink more Langhe nebbiolo from good producers... (2921 views)
Tasted by JWG on 5/14/2020 & rated 90 points: Still a delicious version, though a touch less rich than the last bottle. The nose has earth and light tar. Palate is minerally, with bright nebbiolo fruit, spice, with modest tannins. (2998 views)
Tasted by einar1959@gmail.com on 4/17/2020 & rated 85 points: Excellent wine. It never disappoints. One of my favorites when it comes to value for money. (1896 views)
Tasted by LaiJien on 4/17/2020 & rated 89 points: 2017 Langhe Nebbiolo Horizontal Tasting (Seattle, Washington): Pretty floral nose, along with cherry. Medium acid, medium+ tannins, 14% ABV, medium- body, medium finish. Delightful. (2207 views)
Tasted by Nyllet on 4/13/2020 & rated 88 points: Quite warm nose with cherries, roses and some alcohol. The palette shows darker cherries, herbs and earthy tones. Medium body and a nice acidity together with polished tannins. (1457 views)
Tasted by scorbett on 3/26/2020: Uncork (and leave open) bottle for 1.5 hours.

Then it unfolds all its pleasures.

Classic nebbiolo up and down. Such a great value wine. (1572 views)
Tasted by CCestaro on 2/17/2020 & rated 90 points: This is very good with an hour decant. Bring nose with some cherry and mineral notes...tastes like a lighter Barbaresco with some decent cherry and some tannins to hold up. Good annual wine. (1570 views)
Tasted by JWG on 12/27/2019 & rated 91 points: A remarkable "plain" nebbiolo from Produttori. Nose is classic nebbiolo with minerality, earth, light tar. Palate is bright nebbiolo fruit, with some spice, and a dark backbone. Light tannins (1671 views)
Tasted by Björn Sesoselak on 11/8/2019 & rated 89 points: The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like clove, cinnamon, oak and rose. It tastes like cherry, cinnamon and vanilla. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. (2003 views)
 Tasted by S. Connery on 10/14/2019 & rated 89 points: Godkjent! :) (1815 views)
Tasted by thesternowl on 10/11/2019 & rated 90 points: Strawberry Fruit Roll-Ups, brambles, cumin seed and dried Italian herbs. Firm tannins and zippy acid; long-ish finish. So tasty for so little money. Great with food but plenty interesting to enjoy on its own. Huge value. Makes me wonder how good the 2017 Barbarescos will be! (1951 views)
Tasted by S. Connery on 9/13/2019 & rated 88 points: Rund og fin, lite snerp. Alkohol på lukt. Perfekt til sopp og pasta. (1762 views)
Tasted by OaktownRush on 8/25/2019 & rated 89 points: Red fruit, florals, slate and some tar on the nose. Nice sense of minerality and elegance on the palate, medium+ acid and tannins. Good, but missing some depth that you'd maybe see out of a higher end Nebbiolo. (1674 views)
Tasted by ciesel on 7/17/2019 & rated 88 points: Serviceable daily quaff (1728 views)
Tasted by andrewdodd86 on 6/8/2019 & rated 91 points: Fruit forward, good cherry. So tannic and primary at this age, a good food wine by hard to pin down. (1899 views)
Tasted by iglobetrotter on 6/2/2019 & rated 87 points: Good langhe (1669 views)
Tasted by mattstolz11 on 5/19/2019 & rated 90 points: perfect pizza night wine. tannins did smooth out and integrate a little better on night 2 and it developed a little more going on, but bright fruit and fairly good structure for a langhe Nebbiolo. (1682 views)

Produttori del Barbaresco

O ok just

Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.

Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.

"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.

Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
