| Community Tasting Notes (average 88.8 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 13 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Gail and Len on 11/29/2014 & rated 87 points: I as greatly disappointed with this wine, particularly in light of the price point. I thought it was devoid of any character. I have had few opportunities to drink Premier Cru class Chardonnays, but all the others were magnificent. (2844 views) | | Tasted by brianakrin on 6/26/2014 & rated 89 points: ready to drink. nice , some minerality (3023 views) | | Tasted by JonnyG on 5/27/2013 & rated 91 points: A Holiday Weekend BBQ (or "How I milked my birthday an extra few days") (Rancho de Los Olivos): A big upgrade from the other bottle I tried from the case sometime ago. Served as we sat for dinner, and it was hard to turn to the reds even with my grilled steak. Lovely to gaze at: straw, sun and shimmer. Honeysuckle and citrus on the nose. Lighter in style but still quite lush, with lovely minerality and all of the classic Puligny elements of green apple, citrus and stone. (5136 views) | | Tasted by JonnyG on 7/13/2012 & rated 89 points: Lovely to gaze at: straw, sun and shimmer, but it goes a bit downhill from those admittedly high expectations. The nose offers little at first, but gives up a hint of honeysuckle sweetness and citrus after some time in the glass. The wine leaves me less than elated at this stage, perhaps needs more time in the bottle but I am cautious given Latour's lighter style but then again the wine's minerality bodes well in this regard. I cannot complain that the classic Puligny elements of green apple, citrus and stone are not present, but there's no "wow" factor with this wine, at least thus far. It lacks lushness and depth, to my palate. (5391 views) | | Tasted by RunawayCellars on 7/5/2012 & rated 84 points: First thing I noticed was oak on the nose. Followed by hints of tropical fruits, and to an even lesser extent mineral. Palate was oaky, slight green fruit (apple/pear); and a rather strong, overpowering finish. (5427 views) | | Tasted by j30 on 5/31/2012 & rated 88 points: 375 bottle. More oaky and austere than 08. Crisp, clean, nice nose but finish was quite austere. (3284 views) | | Tasted by vin0vin0 on 2/10/2012 & rated 91 points: Very crisp, clean, minerally, flinty with excellent balance and acidity. Not oaky or buttery, a good representation of Puligny-Montrachet chardonnay. Went very well with grilled salmon. (3175 views) | | Tasted by rnellans on 12/9/2011 & rated 90 points: No change from previous note. (2402 views) | | Tasted by rnellans on 12/2/2011 & rated 90 points: Citrus with some tropical fruit notes. Good depth and balance. Acid is ok...typical '09 and easy to drink. Good village. (2008 views) | | Tasted by cartime on 8/6/2011 & rated 89 points: Opened up nicely over an hour. Stone fruit, green apple, vanilla, and minerals. As is typical for the vintage, is very accessible even this young. Nice acidity. Didn't find the oak overpowering. (1809 views) | | Tasted by tooch on 12/2/2010 & rated 77 points: 2009 Burgundy Tasting (Park Hyatt - Washington, DC): Thought the oak just blew this wine away. No balance, clunky on the palate. Not my style. (2970 views) |

2018 vintage: "marked by a wet spring, a superb summer and a good harvest" 2019 vintage reports 2021: "From a general standpoint, whether for white, rosé or red wines, 2021 is a year marked by quality in the Rhône Valley Vineyards. Structured, elegant, fresh and fruity will be the main keywords for this new vintage." 2022 harvest: idealwine.info | wine-searcher.comBurgundy Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)
Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes: * "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons * "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson * "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson
# 2014 Vintage Notes: "We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates
# 2015 Vintage Notes: "Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson
# 2017 Vintage Notes: "Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson
# 2018 Vintage Notes: "The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
